RESUMO
On the basis of their biomechanical experimental investigations on 10 metal models and 20 anatomic preparations of the ankle joint the authors have determined the quantitative parameters of the strength of tightening intertibial syndesmosis with a wire loop going round the transversal canals through the fibula and of the tibia. The reliability and the biomechanical validity of the method proposed by the authors have been confirmed by 39 clinical observations. The surgical technique is described.

The authors make a critical analysis of the traditional types of plaster bandages used for the functional treatment of diaphyseal fractures of the bones of the crus. The results of the investigation into the relaxation properties and the dependence of the force of the pressure of the elastic bandage on its relative lengthening are presented. The values of the pressure under the plaster cast using an elastic bandage depending on the crus parameters and the number of the turns of the bandage are defined. On the basis of mathematical modelling the biomechanical substantiation and the recommendations concerning an optimal use of the elastic bandage for the fixation of the plaster cast longuets are given.

The author proposes an original method of determination of the degree of deformation in angular values on the basis of his experience in the treatment of 27 patients with infundibulum-like deformation of the chest. In case of surgical treatment the method of thoracoplasty after N. I. Kondrashin is preferable. The design formula of the size of the resected rib area is proposed. To stabilize the framework of the chest fixation by crossing wires on the ring support after G. A. Ilizarov is suggested. Submerged crossing wires with bent supporting ends were used for more continuous fixation.

The collective diagnosis of humeroscapular periarthritis (HSP) may imply a number of diseases different both in the genesis (inflammation, a degenerative process, trauma, cervical osteochondrosis) and localization (tendons of the humeral short rotators, biceps, synovial sheaths, bursae, etc.). A large proportion of HSPs are inveterate lesions of musculus interspinalis requiring surgical intervention. Despite the analogous pattern of many clinical symptoms, close collaboration of neuropathologists and traumatologists may allow the differential diagnosis of primary and secondary HSPs.
