RESUMO

Ketamine (50 mg/kg, i.p.) increases the intensity of lipolysis and lipid peroxidation (LPO) in the hepatic and cardiac tissues of Wistar male rats, as manifested by an increase in the content of nonetherified fatty acids and cholesterol in the blood serum and in the content of LPO products in the blood serum and in the liver and heart tissues. Propofol in the same dose also influences the lipid metabolism and LPO intensity, but to a lower extent. The joint administration of both ketamine (25 mg/kg, i.p.) and propofol (25 mg/kg, i.p.) leads to averaging of some characteristics of the lipid metabolism and LPO.

RESUMO

The propophol anesthesia induced the lipid peroxidation and inhibits the body antioxidation activity, which manifests itself by a reduced total antioxidation activity of the blood serum. However, the propophol effect, related with peroxidation activation, is not long and the mentioned parameters of lipid metabolism go down to the original values in 17-18 hour after the preparation was administered.

RESUMO

Patients with hydatid disease of the liver were found to have disorders of lipid metabolism in the liver which led to increase in the amount of lipid peroxidation products and simultaneous decrease of blood serum antioxidant activity. An operation sharply induces the noted disturbances of lipid metabolism. A single administration of 1 ml of 10% alpha tocopherol solution in the preoperative period has a beneficial effect on the above-noted shifts.

RESUMO

Halothane monoanesthesia in hypoxia leads to activation of lipolysis with increase in the content of NEFA and POL products. The administration of alpha-tocopherol in a dose of 50 mg/liter in such cases was conductive to a statistically significant decrease in the content of peroxidation products in the blood.

RESUMO

The intraperitoneal administration of ketalar in a dose of 50 mg/kg elevated the myocardial levels of triglycerides, reduced non-esterified fatty acids and enhanced uncontrolled mitochondrial respiration during oxidation of caprylate and palmitoylcarnitine. The efficiency of phosphorylation remained unchanged.

RESUMO

Increase of lipolytic hormones and cAMP was revealed in experimental peritonitis. The amount of free fatty acids and the total protein content in the blood increased on the average by 50 and 40%, respectively. The blood free fatty acid content reduced to control values after hemosorption, the triglyceride concentration was normalized simultaneously, and the cAMP level became stable. Thus, hemosorption caused a positive effect on the lipid metabolism in peritonitis because of diminished intensity of lipolysis which was activated in this disease.

RESUMO

To study the hemosorption-induced changes in the plasma levels on nontoxic components, experiments were made on dogs with acute hepatic failure simulated by ligation of the common bile and vesicle tracts followed by administration of carbon tetrachloride into the common bile duct. Hemosorption was accomplished by the vein-vein variant by using KAU-type sorbent. Changes in lipid metabolism and the concentrations of biogenic amines were examined during and after a hemosorption session. The positive action of this procedure was found to appear as normalization of lipolysis whose activation occurred in acute hepatic failure, and as increases in the level of histamine and moderate-weight molecules.

RESUMO

In dogs with experimental peritonitis, accumulation of toxic metabolic products caused impairment in lipid metabolism. With reduction in pronouncement of endotoxemia under the influence of ultra-violet irradiation, the blood level of biologically active substances decreased, the process of lipolysis was suppressed.

RESUMO

A study was made of the content of cAMP, triglycerides and nonesterified fatty acids in the liver of rats anesthesized with halothane under conditions of spontaneous respiration depending on the oxygen content in the inhalation mixture. As the content of oxygen in the inhalation mixture was reduced, the content of cAMP in the liver was decreased, the intensity of lipolysis was disturbed with subsequent derangement of fatty acids oxidation. The raising of the oxygen content in the inhalation mixture did not disturb the activity of the adenylate cyclase system or provoked deep lipolysis disorders in the liver.

RESUMO

Content of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), which involved in regulation of heart metabolism, was altered in myocardium depending on oxygen concentration in the inhalation mixture. Increase of oxygen concentration during gas anesthesia stimulated lipolysis and elevated cAMP content, while these parameters were lowered after decrease of oxygen content in the mixture.

RESUMO

The authors have established that in hemosorption with the use of the KAU type sorbent, the biologically active substances, which are the substrates of carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism were eliminated from the blood. After termination of a seánce of hemosorption, levels of all the substances studied were normalized. However, total protein content was not reestablished.

RESUMO

A reduction of breathing control in palmitoylcarnitine oxidation without changes in phosphorylation efficacy coefficient have been noted upon intraabdominal injections of ketamine to rats at a dose of 50 mg/kg. The morphological signs noted were: mitochondrial matrix induration and insignificant focal disturbances of cardiac apparatus (myofibril) contractility. In beta-adrenergic stimulation of the heart by novodrine during ketamine anesthesia a sharp reduction in breathing control and phosphorylation efficacy coefficient are observed with the oxidation of succinate, caprylic acids and palmitoylcarnitine by myocardial mitochondria. Morphologically the disturbance of mitochondrial cysts, appearance of mitochondrial myelinic structures and partial destruction of mitochondrial membranes have been observed. In beta-adrenergic heart blockade by adrenoblockers obsidan and cordanum during ketamine anesthesia, obsidan induces an increase in phosphorylation efficacy coefficient, with morphologically normal energy and contractility apparatus. Cordanum is not so effective when used during ketamine anesthesia.

RESUMO

Lipid metabolism (nonesterified fatty acids, triglycerides) was studied in experimental animals under halothane anesthesia in conditions of spontaneous respiration in dependence on oxygen content in the inhalation mixture. The results have shown that changes in blood lipid fractions depend on oxygen concentration in the inhalation mixture during anesthesia. In high oxygen content, there is an enhancement of lipolysis in fatty tissues. Lipogenesis processes predominant in the liver do not depend on oxygen concentration in the inhalation mixture.

RESUMO

The effects of anapriline, ketamine and anapriline administered during ketamine-induced anesthesia on contents of lipid fractions and ATP in the heart and on oxidation of fatty acids by myocardial mytochondria were studied on 200 albino rats. Administration of ketamine in a dose of 50 mg/kg induced blockade of lipolysis and a decrease of ATP content in the heart. At oxidation of fatty acids a decrease of respiratory control due to an increase of the rate of controlled mitochondrial respiration was noted. Anapriline (1 mg/kg) induced lipolysis blockade and ATP accumulation in the myocardium. Fatty acid oxidation was followed by activation of all rates of mitochondrial respiration and an increase of phosphorylation efficiency coefficient. Anapriline administered during ketamine-induced anesthesia prevented an impairment of myocardial bioenergy developing under the influence of ketamine that manifested itself in an increase of phosphorylating respiration rate, phosphorylation efficiency coefficient and ATP content in the myocardium.

RESUMO

Effects of beta-adrenoblocker obsidan and selective beta-adrenoblocker cordanum on metabolism of fatty acids in the rat myocardium were studied. Obsidan increased the concentration of triglycerides and decreased that of nonesterified fatty acids in the myocardial tissue, reduced the amounts of ketone bodies, beta-oxybutyrate and acetoacetate, accelerated oxidation of fatty acids by myocardial mitochondria. Cordanum produced no changes in beta-oxybutyrate concentration, decreased the concentrations of acetoacetate, induced accumulation of triglycerides. The drug reduced respiration control at the expense of an increase in controlled respiration rate. Thus, in contrast to total beta-adrenergic blockade induced by obsidan, cardioselective beta-adrenergic blockade by cordanum results in a decrease of myocardial oxygen consumption and a reduction of respiration controlled respiration rate.

RESUMO

It has been shown in experiments on white rats that a single intraperitoneal injection of novodrine (1 mg/kg) stimulates respiration in myocardial mitochondria in a state of V0. Caprylate and palmitoyl carnitine were used as substrate. The drug reduces the rate of respiration in an active state so that the magnitude of respiratory control decreases. The VDNP rate increases during respiratory dissociation and phosphorylation. The novodrine-induced alterations in the functioning of electron transfer in myocardial mitochondria leads to the reduction of the synthesis of macroergic bonds in the form of ATP.
