RESUMO

Determination of Ag nanoparticles impact on microorganisms causative agents of purulent-inflammatory processes was carried out and it was stated that the greatest significance of growth inhibition zone was found in Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes with sample length from 1 to 6 mm and Escherichia coli with 5-6 mm sample length. The investigated strains in an amount 104 - 106 CFU/ml were sensitive to Аg nanoparticles activity, but at concentration 108 CFU/ml and more all strains were found persistent to samples of various length. The ability to form biofilms with planktonic cells of microorganisms under Ag nanoparticles activity sufficiently reduced from 3.4 (Candida albicans) to 5.5 (Klebsiella pneumonia) in investigated strains. The disorganization of daily biofilms was found in determining of Ag nanoparticles impact on formed biofilms of microorganisms.

RESUMO

Clinical effectiveness of metabolic support in surgical treatment of patients, suffering stenotic affection of carotid arteries, was estimated. Neoton intraoperative injection inside internal carotid artery have promoted improvement of metabolism in ischemized brain tissues, reduction of metabolic acidosis severity, and preservation of normal bioelectrical activity of the brain. Expediency of prolongation of clinical investigation for intraoperative prophylaxis of reperfusional brain tissue damage, while surgical treatment of patients, suffering stenotic affection of carotid arteries, using metabolic support, was discussed.

RESUMO

Twenty-one patients with injury to the brachial plexus suffered as the result of traumatic dislocation of the shoulder were examined and operated on with the use of microsurgical techniques. Traumatic changes of the nerve trunks, the development of a cicatricial-adhesive process around and within them lead to stable disorders of conduction which do not yield to nonoperative treatment. Stable traumatic changes revealed in the nerve trunks on EMG in the first 4-6 weeks after the trauma as well as the absence of an effect of nonoperative treatment within this period of time were indications for surgery. Despite the coarse macroscopic external changes found in the nerves of the brachial plexus they should not be resected without preliminary intratruncal inspection of the fasciculi with intraoperative electrodiagnosis.
