RESUMO
The authors review renal stone disease in the National University Hospital of Cotonou on the basis of 109 cases observed over a period of 18 years. The mean frequency was 6.11 cases per year with a marked male predominance (sex ratio of 3.73). Infection and diseases of the lower urinary tract play an important aetiological role, hence the numerical importance of cases of lower tract stones (60.95%).
