RESUMO

Based on the results of sanogenetic monitoring the health of schoolchildren found that among high school students to the proportion of adolescents with elevated blood pressure (hypertension + hypernormotension) increases from 15-20% in 8th class to 30-50% in 9-11th classes, while the proportion of adolescents with hypertension was 3.7% in all age groups. Comparison of blood pressure with parameters of neurovegetative regulation of the cardiovascular system revealed that the presence of high normal blood pressure in 13-14-year-olds and 17-18-year-olds correlated with an increase in the proportion of low frequencies in the spectrum of HRV and lower values of the sensitivity of arterial baroreflex. At the age of 15-16 years, high-normal blood pressure accompanied by a decrease in heart rate, increase the sensitivity of arterial baroreflex and correlates with reduced power high-frequency part of the spectrum of HRV. When performing a functional test (an increase of "dead" breathing space) in hypernormotension teenagers 15-16 years, unlike normotensive peers, there is a reduction of finger blood pressure, and relative power of low frequencies in the spectrum of HRV, which may be associated with maladaptive functional changes in the sympathetic unit of autonomic regulation.

RESUMO

Thirty-five patients with vestibular (25) and cerebellar (10) ataxy were medicated by betacerc during 21 days. A status of balance function was estimated, using stabilometric complex MBN "Biomechanika", before and after the treatment course. After the end of the treatment, symptoms of static ataxy and vertigo were reduced. An analysis of stabilogramm has confirmed a tendency to normalization of static balance parameters as a result of betacerc treatment of vestibular and cerebella types of ataxy, with significant decrease of general length of the way, area of support and velocity of gravity center displacement.

RESUMO

The purified preparations of Klebsiella bacteriophages, viz. the monovalent preparation of K. pneumoniae bacteriophage and the polyvalent bacteriophage preparation for the treatment of infections caused by K. ozaenae, K. rhinoscleromatis scleromatis and K. pneumoniae sensu lato, have been obtained. The bacteriophage preparations have proved to be nontoxic and safe for laboratory animals after the intraperitoneal injection of these preparations followed by the pathomorphological study of the internal organs of the animals. The clinical study of the newly developed bacteriophage preparations in the course of the treatment of purulent inflammatory diseases in 109 patients has revealed that the preparations are not reactogenic and exhibit sufficient effectiveness in the therapy of ozena, rhinoscleroma and Klebsiella infections with different localization of the infectious process.

RESUMO

Study on the effect of pentachlorophenol on the succinate oxidase activity of submitochondrial particles and on the reduction level of cytochromes b revealed that the Ki value for PCP is equal to 2-4 microM. The succinate-DCPIP-reductase activity is noncompetitively inhibited with PCP (by 75-85%) (Ki = 3.6 microM). In the case of the succinate-PMS-reductase activity PCP at micromolar concentrations decreases the value of V only by 40% (C50 = 2 microM) with a simultaneous increase of the Km value for PMS. The identity of Ki values for PCP under these conditions suggests that the effect of PCP is due to the inhibitor interaction with the same component of the succinate dehydrogenase complex. The type of action of PCP on the succinate-acceptor-reductase activities indicates that the inhibiting effect of PCP on succinate oxidations is similar to that exerted by traditional inhibitors of succinate dehydrogenase--tenoyltrifluoroacetone and carboxins. Since PCP inhibits succinate dehydrogenase at low concentrations, it seems likely that the biological (pesticidal) effect of PCP is provided for not only by its uncoupling action but also by the inhibition of succinate oxidation in the respiratory chain.
