RESUMO

We enrolled 153 patients with Ischemic Heart Disease admitted to general hospital: 33--with aterosclerotic cardiosclerosis, 70--with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), 17--with postinfarctial cardiosclerosis, 33--with unstable angina. 30 control subjects (middle aged men and women) were recruited. Exhaled breath temperature (Te), ambient temperature (Tam) and axillaris temperature (Tax) were measured. The predicted expired air temperature (prTe) and three pneumothermometric indexes were calculated: index ThetaEAT-(Te-Tam)/(prTe-Tam); index DeltaEAT-(Tax-Te)/(Tax-prTe); index lamdaEAT-(Te-predTe)/(Te-predTe). Index DeltaEAT is the most effective index for revealing disorders of respiratory heat exchange in myocardial infarction. Index lamdaEAT is the most effective pneumothermic one for revealing disorders of respiratory heat exchange in aterosclerotic cardiosclerosis.

RESUMO

The research was carried out on 153 patients with ischemic heart disease at standard ambient temperature and humidity. The conditioning function of the respiratory system was examined by pneumothermometric method. Values of expired air temperature (EAT) have been compared with predicted values. Statistically significant increase of EAT was observed: in myocardial infarction - 0.49 degrees C, in atherosclerotic cardiosclerosis - 0.36 degrees C, in unstable angina pectoris - 0.12 degrees C. These data how respiratory heat exchange flux in patients with ischemic heart disease, possibly due to lung haemodynamics disturbances which are common among patients with this pathology. This measuring of expired air temperature is advisable for functional diagnostics of the respiratory system in routine and emergency cases.

RESUMO

Physical efficiency (PhE), maximal calorific capacity (MCC) and Pneumocalorimetric index which conditions the function of the respiratory apparatus can be described by the following equation: PhE = 59.9 . MCC + 33. An error of PhE calculated with the above mentioned technique doesn't exceed 12,5%. The use of pneumocalorimetric enables to assess the functional state of the cardiorespiratory system by determining PhE, labour-intensiveness of the method is 5.1 minutes per a test.

RESUMO

AIM: To compare quantitative characteristics of the lack of conditioning function of the respiratory system (CFRS) and to reveal basic etiopathogenetic factors affecting its severity in patients with various pulmonary and cardiac diseases. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Lack of CFRS was assessed pneumocalorimetrically in 423 patients with chronic nonspecific pulmonary diseases (CNPD) and 322 patients with cardiovascular diseases. RESULTS: Factors determining the severity of CFRS lack are: nosological unity, disease stage, occupational hazards, severity of respiratory and circulatory insufficiency. CONCLUSION: Pneumocalorimetry is useful in diagnosis, for objective evaluation of treatment efficacy and rehabilitation.

RESUMO

The diagnosis of inadequacy of the respiratory apparatus conditioning function (RACFI) necessitates carrying out an appreciable volume of calculations to determine observable and required values for its parameters, together with drawing up a concluding statement according to the existing RACFI classification. The above rapid method permits the 2.5-fold cut in man-power to be streamlined into research on respiratory heat-exchange in patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The suggested method is recommended for use in therapeutic, pulmonological, cardiological departments and functional-diagnosis units in hospitals.

RESUMO

The respiratory system conditioning function (CFRS) was evaluated with the aid of pneumocalorimetry by taking account of respiratory thermic losses spent to warm breathing air in the volume of vital capacity. There were 100 patients with pneumoconiosis and 49 ones with rheumatic carditis. In the course of treatment of patients with pneumoconiosis, both occurrence and degree of insufficiency of the conditioning function (CF) got decreased, with reduction in CF insufficiency degree being 60% in those patients faring well owing to the treatments administered, and 40% in those not having benefited much from the treatment. 73% of patients with rheumatic carditis experienced, under the influence of the treatment received, decline in the degree of CF insufficiency. Thus, pneumocalorimetric criterion described above will, we believe, help in quantitating the efficiency of treatment of CF insufficiency.

RESUMO

Over 1000 practically healthy adults and patients with myocardial infarction, rheumatic fever and bronchial asthma were examined with the use of original pneumothermocalorimetric equipment. Based on the statistical treatment data the principle of standardization and due parameters of the conditioning function of the external respiratory apparatus were developed as were grades and etiopathogenetic characteristics of this function states, physiological and conventional standards, and three stages of insufficiency.
