RESUMO

Holter ECG monitoring was for the first time accomplished before, during, and several hours after a balneologic procedure (carbon dioxide bath) with simultaneous analysis of cardiac rhythm variability. Results of the study suggest the possibility of high-quality ECG monitoring n the course of balneologic treatment. Its data can be used to evaluate cardiac rhythm variability and estimate the degree of activation of sympathetic and parasympathetic components of the vegetative nervous system in patients with cardiovascular diseases in response to balneotherapeutic procedures.

RESUMO

We studied the effect of cardiovascular system function on the response to terrain cure in the course of rehabilitation of 88 patients after surgical correction of valvular defects in conditions of low-mountain health resort. We have found that the response to the above exercise depends on functional condition of the cardiovascular system (the degree of correction of hemodynamic disorders related to valvular disease, the degree of myocardial hypertrophy and dilation of the chambers, left ventricular contractility). Terrain cure exercise promotes improvement in regulation of cardiovascular system and mobilization of its reserves.

RESUMO

The response of the cardiovascular system of 64 patients operated for rheumatic heart disease to mineral carbon dioxide baths was studied in the course of rehabilitation in low-mountain health resort. It was found that the above baths have a training effect on the cardiac muscle, improve myocardial metabolism. They are an essential factor in combined sanatorium treatment of patients after surgical correction of valvular defects. Baths-induced changes in the central and peripheral hemodynamics depend on cardiovascular function. Therefore, they require an individual approach. If the exposition increases to 15 minutes, mineral carbon dioxide baths have more potent training effect on the myocardium and raise effectiveness of the sanatorium treatment.

RESUMO

284 patients with IHD after coronary artery bypass operation have undergone rehabilitation at low-mountain health resort Kislovodsk. The study of lipoprotein metabolism has detected a positive trend in this metabolism as shown by lowering of blood cholesterol, low density lipoproteins, phospholipids and triglycerides, elevated levels of high density lipoproteins.

RESUMO

We developed well grounded differentiated methods of rehabilitation treatment in low mountains for patients after surgery for ischemic heart disease. Evaluation of the results was carried out with due account for variety of clinical course of the disease, condition of coronary and myocardial reserves of the heart and concomitant diseases. 475 males aged 22-65 years who underwent aorto-coronary bypass surgery for CAD were examined. As a result of spa treatment significant improvement of general patients condition was observed in 22.7% and condition improved in some way--in 70.2; no change of general condition was detected in 6.7% patients. It is established that condition of contractile activity of the myocardium of left ventricle is of much importance for effectiveness of the spa treatment stage of rehabilitation of cardiosurgical patients. Differentiated methods of the usage of terrain cure in the complex of sanatoria and health resort treatment are developed and introduced into practice. Severity of the principal disease, extended scar formations in the myocardium and concomitant diseases are the reasons influencing low effectiveness of the treatment.

RESUMO

Adaptation to hypoxia is an important training factor for patients with ischemic heart disease subjected to aortocoronary shunting. In the conditions of low-maintain health resort this adaptation lasts for 3-5 days and most of the patients avoid complications. Pathological reactions occur in patients with inadequate reserves of the coronary system, having essential hypertension, severe concomitant diseases, in those who arrived at health resort earlier than 5 months after aortocoronary shunting.

RESUMO

Muscular exercise in the form of terrain walking proved to be a useful component of combined conditioning of coronary heart disease patients after aortocoronary shunt functional class 1 and 2. In conditions of moderate altitude resort such training mobilizes cardiovascular reserves of CHD patients. The outcome of the above sanatorium rehabilitation depends largely on contractility of left ventricular myocardium.
