RESUMO

Cytochrome c (cyt c) has been found to play a function in apoptosis in cell-free models. This work presents the creation of molecularly imprinted conducting poly(3, 4-ethylenedioxythiopene) (MIPEDOT) on the surface of a screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) for cyt c. Cyt c was imprinted by electropolymerization due to the presence of an EDOT monomer hydrophobic functional group on SPCE, using CV to obtain highly selective materials with excellent molecular recognition ability. MIPEDOT was characterized by CV, EIS, and DPV using ferricyanide/ferrocyanide as a redox probe. Further, the characterization of the sensor was accomplished using SEM for surface morphological confirmation. Using CV, the peak current measured at the potential of +1 to -1 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) is linear in the cyt c concentration range from 1 to 1200 pM, showing a remarkably low detection limit of 0.5 pM (sensitivity:0.080 µA pM). Moreover, the applicability of the approach was successfully confirmed with the detection of cyt c in biological samples (human plasma). Similarly, our research has proven a low-cost, simple, and efficient sensing platform for cyt c detection, rendering it a viable tool for the future improvement of reliable and exact non-encroaching cell death detection.

RESUMO

In this work, a simple, efficient and eco-friendly green synthesis of manganese dioxide nanoparticles (MnO2NPs) by Psidium guajava leaf extract was described. Fourier-Transform infrared spectra results revealed that involvement of the plant extract functional groups in the formation of MnO2NPs. The UV-vis absorption spectra of the synthesized MnO2NPs exhibited absorption peaks at 374 nm, which were attributed to the band gap of the MnO2NPs. Crystal phase identification of the MnO2NPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis and the formation of crystalline MnO2NPs have been confirmed. Furthermore, scanning electron microscopy analysis showed that the synthesized MnO2NPs have a spherical in shape. Interestingly, the prepared green synthesized MnO2NPs showed catalytic degradation activity for malachite green dye. Malachite green's photocatalytic degradation was detected spectrophotometrically in the wavelength range of 250-900 nm, and it was discovered to have a photodegradation efficiency of 75.5 % within 90 min when exposed to solar radiation. Green synthesized MnO2NPs are responsible for this higher activity. An interaction between synthesized NPs and biomolecules, including CT-DNA and BSA was also evaluated. The spectrophotometric and Fluoro spectroscopic analyses indicate a gradual reduction in peak intensities and shifts in wavelengths, indicating binding and affinity between the NPs and the biomolecules.

RESUMO

Sustainable assembly of imidazolidines is accomplished via a sequential stereospecific ring opening and C-H amination using aziridines with secondary cyclic amines under visible light mediated indazoloquinoline photoredox catalysis at ambient conditions. Optically active aziridines are coupled with high enantiomeric purities. The computational studies provide insights on the redox properties of the catalysts as well as a profile of the reaction.
