[Estimation of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in blood serum using competitive binding with protein]. / Opredelenie 25-oksivitamina D v syvorotke krovi metodom konkurentnogo sviazyvaniia s belkom.

A modified procedure is described for estimation of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) in blood serum, which involves a principle of the saturating analysis. Blood serum from rats, maintained on a ration free of vitamin D, was used as a binding system. Evaluation of the procedure was carried out by conventional criteria (accuracy, reproducibility, sensitivity). Content of 25OHD was estimated in blood of rats, maintained on rations containing various amount of vitamin D, as well as in blood of women in childbirth and in newborns from different climatogeographical zones.

[Role of the uterus in human cyclic ovarian function]. / O roli matki v realizatsii tsiklicheskoi funktsii iaichnikov u cheloveka.

The ovarian function of 20 women with congenital uterine and vaginal aplasia was examined. Cyclic character of estradiol and progesterone secretion persisted in 19 patients. The concentration values of these hormones were within physiological norm in the majority of the women. Estradiol-estrone concentration ratio was lower than in the healthy subjects, showing a possible activation of estradiol metabolism in the uterus absence. The duration of the luteal hormone steroidogenic activity was the same as in the healthy women. Possible realization of the human reproductive system cyclic activity without the uterus is discussed.

[Effect of norethisterone acetate on ovarian functional activity]. / Vliianie norétisterona atsetata na funktsional'nuiu aktivnost' iaichnikov.

Nine women were examined for a period of the 13th to 15th day of the menstrual cycle before and during norethisterone acetate use (10 mg within 10 days). Two-phase character of hormone secretion persisted in 6 of 9 cycles during norethisterone acetate administration. The changed hormone concentration in the 2nd phase and the shortened period of luteinizing hormone functional activity were seen in each cycle. Large individual differences were observed in the blood plasma norethisterone content. No correlation between norethisterone level and the ovarian response pattern was found.

[Effect of norethisterone microdoses on the functional state of the hypophyseal-ovarian system]. / Vliianie mikrodoz norétisterona na funktsional'noe sostoianie gipofizarno-iaichikovoi sistemy.

Effect of noretisterone microdoses (300 microgram) on a functional condition of the hypophysio-ovarian system was investigated. Hormonal studies were conducted in the time course of the control menstrual cycle and during 6 months of continuous noretisterone administration. Ovulation persisted in half of the women under study. Gestagen microdoses proved to produce a less pronounced effect on the hypophysio-ovarian system than estrogen-gestagen drugs.

[17-beta-estradiol determination in the estrogen-sensitive tissues by radioimmunoassay]. / Opredelenie soderzhaniia 17-beta-éstradiola v éstrogenchuvstvitel'nykh tkaniakh s pomoshch'iu radioimmunologicheskogo metoda.

The content of 17 beta-estradiol in cytosol of guinea pig and human estrogen-sensitive tissues was determined by radioimmunoassay. The evaluation of accuracy and precision of the obtained data confirms reliability of the assay. The present study has some methodical advantages.

[Correlation betwen the 17-beta-estradiol content in the blood and the estrogen excretion level in pergonal-500 stimulation of ovulation]. / Korreliatsionnaia zavisimost' mezhdu soderzhaniem éstradiol-17 beta v krovi i urovnem éksrketsii éstrogenov pri stimuliatsii ovuliatsii pergonalom-500.

Correlation between 17 beta-estradiol blood content and the excretion of estrogens was studied during 19 cycles in 10 women with amenorrhea treated with pergonal-500. A high degree of correlation between two lines of values has been observed (r = 0.89 +/- 0.03). It is concluded that both methods are equally informative in the evaluation of pergonal therapeutic effect.
