[Tearing in a patient with glaucoma]. / Studiu asupra secretiei lacrimale la bolnavul cu glaucom.

Lacrimal secretion analysis in glaucoma patients shows several changes depending on the kind of local treatment. The study shows: a. timolol induces: decreasing of the lacrimal secretion (Schirmer's test), decreasing of the basic lacrimal secretion (between 10-25%), the change of the stability and composition of the tears (tear film break-up time is reduced); b. pilocarpine induces: lacrimal puncta occlusion, increased lacrimal secretion, orbicular spasms and palpebral myoclonias. All this changes justify the careful follow-up of the glaucoma patients, specially of the patients of full age, in which normally appear a decrease of lacrimal secretions and of the patients using beta blockers, neuroleptics and other drugs with a known effect of decreasing lacrimal secretion.

[A technic for the prevention of terminal (juxta-vesical) ureteral lesions during radical lymphadeno-colpo-hysterectomy for uterine cancer]. / Procédé pour la prévention des lésions de l'uretère terminal (juxta-vésical) dans le cadre des lymphadéno-colpo-hystérectomies élargies pour cancer utérin.

In certain cases (i.e. selectively and not routinely) of radical lymphadeno-colpo-hysterectomy for uterine carcinoma, the authors section the uterosacral ligaments at the outset, which enables the uterus to be brought up and thus facilitates dissection, ligation and section of the supra-uterine vesico-uterine pedicles, avoiding damage to the terminal (juxta-vesical) ureter.

[Ocular trauma in children]. / Traumatismele oculare la copil.

The authors study etiopathogenic clinical and therapeutic features of ocular injuries on a group of 175 children hospitalised and treated in the Department of Ophthalmology from Municipal Clinical Hospital of Bucharest. The study includes also the immediately and belated sequels.
