[Lipid peroxidation before and after amputation of the lower extremity in patients with atherosclerotic gangrene].

Activity of lipid peroxidation processes in blood was studied in 60 patients with atherosclerotic gangrene of the lower extremity subjected to amputation of the extremity in a prospective controlled investigation. Activation of the lipid peroxidation processes with a lower number and less activity of the antioxidant system enzymes was demonstrated in patients with severe critical ischemia of lower extremities. The operation trauma was followed by further stress of the system of free radical oxidation of lipids. The increased concentration of lipid peroxidation products with a decreased or low level of activity of the antioxidant system enzymes allows prognosis of the development of purulent complications at the early postoperative period.

[Comparison of albumin analysis by fluorescent method with other clinical laboratory parameters in purulent peritonitis]. / Sravnitel'nyi analiz al'bumina, issledovannogo fliuorestsentnym metodom, i drugikh kliniko-laboratornykh pokazatelei pri gnoinom peritonite.

The concentration and properties of the blood-albumin linkage centers were examined by the method fluorescent probes, besides, the general clinical-and-laboratory indices in the blood serum of patients with diffusive purulent peritonitis were determined. The parameters as obtained by the method of fluorescent probes revealed a valuable information on a patients' severity condition and on a forecasted disease evolution; finally, they surpass, in a majority of cases, the generally accepted clinical-and-laboratory tests applicable to similar conditions.

[Free radicals lipid peroxidation and level of R-proteins in non-specific aortoarteritis and hypertension]. / Svobodnoradikal'noe okislenie lipidov i uroven' R-belkov pri nespetsificheskom aortoarteriite i gipertonicheskoi bolezni.

Parameters characterizing free-radical oxidation of lipids (malonic dialdehyde, total serum antioxidative activity, ceruloplasmin, and superoxide dismutase) and the level of R proteins were studied in patients with nonspecific aortoarteritis and essential hypertension. Lipid peroxidation and the content of regulatory proteins were increased in the patients, the shifts being the most expressed in nonspecific aortoarteritis of the maximum activity.

[Fluorescent method of studying the binding sites of serum albumin for assessing status of patients with purulent-septic diseases]. / Fliuorestsentnyi metod issledovaniia sviazyvaiushchikh tsentrov syvorotochnogo al'bumina dlia otsenki sostoianiia bol'nykh gnoino-septicheskimi zabolevaniiami.

The concentration and properties of the binding centers of the albumin molecule in blood serum of patients with pyo-septic diseases (peritonitis, pancreatonecrosis and sepsis) were investigated. The patients of this category were shown to have a considerably decreased and greatly variable indices of the general concentration of albumin and of effective concentration of albumin in their blood serum. The fluorescent indices were established to correlate with the severity of the disease, efficiency of treatment, prognosis of the development of the disease and its outcome.
