RESUMO

The effects of transcutaneous magnetolaser radiation of the liver, blood alone and in combination on bile secretion and composition were studied in intact rats. Hepatocytes activation was noted in all the above variants. Magnetolaser impact on both the liver and blood intensified bile production under less total density of the radiation energy. Bile and direct bilirubin secretion increased. Excretion of bile acids enhances selectively, while that of cholesterol diminished. There may be mutual potentiation, summing and selectivity of the effects arising in combined magnetolaser radiation of the liver and blood.

RESUMO

Results are reported of thermographic examination of 51 patients with acute respiratory viral infections. It was established that the patients showed an increase of the radiation temperature of the skin of the nose, floor of the auricle, in the projection of the sternocleidomastoid muscles and increased submaxillary lymphatic nodes independent of the etiological factor and disease severity grade. Hyperthermia of the nose on thermograms was more frequently observed in patients with rhinitis. Informative were differences in the temperatures between the external auditory meatus and the lobule of the ear which decrease in the acute period of the disease in accordance with its severity. In most convalescents normalization of the thermal picture of the face coincides by terms with clinical convalescence while hyperthermia of the neck is maintained for a longer time.

RESUMO

Monotherapy with reaferon (alpha 2-interferon) versus prodigiosan plus ibuprofen combination was investigated in acute viral hepatitis B. The drugs were found to stimulate cellular immunity and to induce a decrease of total serum IgE levels. The effect of prodigiosan combined with ibuprofen proved more pronounced.

RESUMO

Fifty-four patients with viral hepatitis B (VHB) were examined at the height of the disease as were 30 patients with mechanical jaundice (MJ) of tumorous etiology and 19 normal persons. Mechanical jaundice was mainly characterized by a considerable growth of the concentration of carcinoembryonic antigen, whereas VHB by an increase of the cholylglycine level. Concomitant detection of those markers can be used in differential diagnosis of parenchymatous jaundice and mechanical jaundice of tumorous etiology. Alterations of the alpha-fetoprotein level were of no information content.

RESUMO

Diagnostic importance of gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase and alkaline phosphatase activities estimation in bile was demonstrated during inflammation of biliary ducts and gallbladder. Activation of these enzymes in B-bile in cholecystitis and in B- and C-bile--in cholecystocholangitis enabled to perform topical diagnosis. Correlation between the enzymatic activity in bile and blood allowed to diagnose acute viral hepatitis B and its combination with inflammation of biliary cuts.

RESUMO

The clinical trials of alpha 2-interferon (alpha 2-IF) (reaferon) in 412 patients with acute viral hepatitis B (AVHB) permitted the establishment of the optimal therapeutic dose and the schedule for the drug use. The drug tolerance appeared satisfactory on the whole. alpha 2-IF was found to have a beneficial effect on the clinical course of VHB. The relationship was established between the therapeutic effectiveness of the drug and the clinical variants of the disease as well as the time of drug administration. The highest clinical effect (in 86.3%) was attained as a result of early (before the 7th day of jaundice) use of alpha 2-IF in patients with the acute-cyclic pattern of VHB. That effect consisted in the reduction of the treatment period (by 6-8 days), in a 2-fold reduction of the incidence of HBs-antigenemia, in rapid stimulation of the IF system, and in the initially low activity of natural killers. If the drug was administered later, the positive clinical effect was detectable only in 61% of the patients. In cholestatic VHB, alpha 2-IF did not produce any therapeutic effect.

RESUMO

A thermographic study has revealed zones of hyperthermia in the epigastrium and other abdominal regions in 91.4 per cent of the patients with food poisoning. The temperature gradient in the epigastrium depended on the degree of severity of the disease (in mild course--0.60 +/- 0.11 degrees C, in moderately severe and severe course--1.15 +/- 0.09 degrees C). In salmonellosis a zone of hyperthermia was also found in the right iliac region. Clinical recovery in most cases preceded temperature normalization on the abdomen. In patients with acute dysentery the hyperthermic zone was constantly revealed in the left iliac region, in acute appendicitis in the right iliac region, in acute cholecystitis in the right hypochondrium, in acute pancreatitis in the epigastrium or in the hypochondrium with a clearly defined upper border. Thermography contributed to the differential diagnosis of food poisoning and the above diseases.

RESUMO

Vegetative regulation is shown to affect the heat pattern of the trunk skin. Two types of thermograms are found in men: "monotonous" and "spotted", the first thermogram being characterized by prevalence of the parasympathetic and the second one-by sympathetic tonus. In women "spotted" thermograms and sympathicotonic direction of the vegetative regulation are registered.

RESUMO

Enzymological examination of 113 patients with A and B viral hepatitis (VH) and 41 with obstructive jaundice of tumor origin and 32 with chronic cholecystitis during exacerbation showed an increase of activity of blood serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDG), gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase (GGTP), alkaline phosphatase. The GGTP/LDG ratio is of differential-diagnostic value. Ratio values of 0.8 and less indicate VH while values of 1 and more indicate obstructive jaundice.

RESUMO

The clinical course of herpes zoster has been analysed in 132 in-patients and a variety of the clinical forms shown which were initially disguised as the internal diseases. In addition to typical variants, the following types of herpes zoster have been found: gangrenous, bullous, hemorrhagic and disseminated.

RESUMO

The therapeutic effects of prodigiozan and ibuprofen, endogenous interferon production inductors, were studied in the patients with acute viral hepatitides A and B with consideration for the body allergic reactivity at the peak of the disease. The results evidence a favourable effect of these drugs on the clinical course of the disease and on liver function; immuno- and interferon-stimulating and desensitizing effects manifested mainly in hepatitis A cases with immediate types II and III hypersensitivity and in hepatitis B cases with immediate types I and II hypersensitivity.
