Computer analysis of drug therapy in cardiac patients. Preliminary communication.

The authors present a system of computer control in drug therapy of cardiac patients aimed at preventing complications and adverse interactions of simultaneously administered drugs. The system includes data on the 196 most frequently used cardiac drugs and 433 other drugs showing clinically important interactions with cardiac drugs.

The article contains the results of a study in the rates of occupational and every-day contacts with different chemical substances and consequent allergic reactions, particularly in patients with connective tissue systemic diseases. Illnesses followed expositions to different unfavourable industrial factors in 43% of lupus erythematosus cases, in 40% of the sclerodermia cases, and in 41.6% of dermatomyosites. In most cases, the diseased persons were occupied in industrial sites dealing with organic solvents, acids, alkalines, medicinal preparations, vaccines, sera and organic dusts.

[Role of computerized analysis in improvement of drug therapy and prevention of drug-induced allergic reactions]. / Rol' kompiuternogo analiza v optimizatsii farmakoterapii i profilaktike medikamentoznykh allergicheskikh reaktsii.

A system of computer-aided monitoring of the safety of drug therapy was developed to reduce the incidence of drug side effects. A data bank coupled with an original algorithm system helps prevent drug-induced allergic cross reactions. The system includes information on 18 groups of drugs with similar chemical structures of combined drugs including the same agent, permitting cross allergies within the group; a total of 400 drugs are included in the system.

[Characteristics of the thrombohemorrhagic syndrome in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus]. / Osobennosti trombogemorragicheskogo sindroma u bol'nykh sistemnoi krasnoi volchankoi.

The authors analyzed data of the clinical picture and autopsy results in 26 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. During life hemorrhagic complications were revealed in 19% of patients, thrombotic--in 12%, while pathoanatomically they were found correspondingly in 46% and 27% of cases. In 15% of cases thromboses and hemorrhages were registered simultaneously. An interrelationship was noted between the activity of the disease and frequency of hemorrhagic complications as well as between the duration of the disease and quantity of thrombotic complications.
