An experience with the diagnosis and treatment of injuries of the stomach in a blunt trauma in 18 patients is presented.

[Postischemic disorders in the surgery of acute intestinal obstruction]. / Postishemicheskie rasstroistva v khirurgii ostroi kishechnoi neprokhodimosti.

Acute intestinal obstruction accompanied by disorders in the mesenterial blood circulation is one of the variations of the ischemic injury of the intestine. After recovery of blood circulation in the portion of the intestine subjected to ischemia, the products of autolysis of the intestinal wall come into the liver and general blood flow and bring about the development of intoxication and cardiopulmonary insufficiency. The therapeutic measures should be directed to stabilization of indices of hemodynamic microcirculation, to liquidation of metabolic acidosis and stimulation of urination.

[Treatment of animal bites]. / O lechenii ran, nanesennykh zhivotnymi.

Bite wounds made by animals make up 2% of all the injuries. The authors show advantages of the treatment by surgery and by putting primary and secondary sutures. The surgical treatment and putting the primary and secondary sutures added by the use of antibiotics contribute to healing the wounds by first intention in 84,6% of cases.

[Perforation of gastroduodenal ulcers and pulmonary tuberculosis]. / Perforativnye gastroduodenal'nye iazvy i legochnyi tuberkulez.

17 observations of the perforation of gastroduodenal ulcer in pulmonary tuberculosis cases are analysed. Most of the patients were males, aged over 50, with protracted chronic forms of tuberculosis. In all cases the suturing of perforation was carried out. 9 patients died. The conclusion has been drawn that a massive antibacterial therapy, which should be carried out in specialized medical institutions, is imperiable.

[Mortality in peptic ulcer hemorrhage and ways of its reduction]. / Letal'nost' pri iazvennykh gastro-duodenal'nykh krovotecheniiakh i puti ee snizheniia.

The authors have studied the results of the treatment of 9688 cases with hemorrhage of ulcer etiology. The authors believe that the lowering of the lethality in repeated or primary profuse hemorrhage may be attained through a surgical intervention at the height of hemorrhage.

[Acute gastrectasia]. / Ob ostrom rasshirenii zheludka

The authors report their 20 observations of acute gastrectasia. An importance of early diagnosis of this pathology is emphasized, and due attention should be given to a proper interpretation of the observed symptoms. Also, the authors stress the importance of decompensated pyloric stenosis in the development of acute gastrectasia. It is concluded that in early diagnosis of acute gastric dilation the complex conservative therapy with a mandatory gastric sounding, correction of hydroelectrolytic disorders and patients' being in Shnitzler-Diterichs posture are of primary importance. In case of failure of this therapy and for intraoperative establishing of the diagnosis of acute gastrectasia gastrostomy may be performed.

[Perforation of gastric cancer]. / O perforatsii raka zheluldka

An analysis of treatment of 85 patients with perforating cancerous tumor of the stomach is presented. Males--63, females--22. The patients' age ranged from 32 to 85 years. Sixty seven patients were operatd upon, 35 of them died. Eighteen patients were not subjected to surgery, all of them died. The following variants of complications associated with gastric cancer are noted: cancer perforation--in 32, hemorrhage and the perforation--in 35, perforation and hemorrhage occurred simultaneously--in 15, perforation followed by hemorrhage--in 3. High mortality rate was due to grave patients' condition, difficulties and errors of diagnosis, inadequacy of therapeutic measures, late operative interventions. The results obtained are described.
