Sarcoidosis and ulcerative colitis: overlap or coexistence.

We show an unusual case of ulcerative colitis and sarcoidosis. This case has detailed images of skin lesions, biopsies and PET-CT results. There is limited evidence regarding the association of inflammatory bowel disease and other granulomatous diseases, especially sarcoidosis.

Secondary orofacial granulomatosis due to Crohn's disease.

We report the case of a 34-year-old female with Crohn's disease (CD), was treated with infliximab and ileocecal resection after failure to anti-TNF. She started adalimumab for postoperative recurrence for two years, with sustained clinical and endoscopic remission. She presents with a 1.5-year history of a persistent, asymptomatic, rubbery swelling on the left half of the lower lip.

Vascular malformation simulating a gastric subepithelial lesion: The risks of the bite-on-bite biopsy technique.

We present a case of a healthy 64-year-old man whose endoscopy showed an irregular subepithelial lesion in the gastric antrum. This lesion was covered by normal mucosa. Biopsies were taken by a bite-on-bite technique. After biopsies, the patient developed arterial bleeding, which was controlled. The anatomopathological study showed a tortuous artery in the submucosa, with a marked hyperplasia of the intima and the internal elastic lamina. These findings were consistent with a gastric arteriovenous malformation versus a Dieulafoy's lesion. This case demonstrates the risk of the bite-on-bite biopsy technique. In our country we have endoscopic ultrasound to assess these lesions, however its availability is low.
