This book highlights the essentials of health and health systems in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It then compares these national data with the average data for three groups – their own, the 15 countries that were members of the European Union (EU) before 1 May 2004 and the 27 current EU Member States. Each chapter provides a concise overview of key health indicators in one of the eight countries, summarizes the key features of the country’s health system and describes the results of over a decade of health system reform. This popular series offers a quick and easy way to grasp the health essentials in a visually attractive format. Since 1 May 2004, the European Union (EU) has had 25 members and 12 new neighbours. The EU’s members differ in their populations’ health status and their health systems’ patterns of development. How does each of the neighbouring countries compare in terms of health to the EU – its members before and after May 2004 and the 25 countries as a whole? This book offers a quick and easy way to grasp the essential features of health and health systems in the EU’s neighbours. Each chapter provides a concise overview of key health indicators in 1 of the 12, comparing them to 3 averages for the EU: for its 25 current members the 15 members before May 2004 and the 10 new members. Восьмой форум по вопросам будущего управление безопасностью пациентов: Эрпфендорф, Австрия, 28–29 апреля 2005 г.

Несмотря на значительное улучшение ситуации, в европейских странах все еще часто наблюдаются случаи неблагоприятных последствий медицинских вмешательств и существуют неопровержимые свидетельства вреда, нанесенного пациентам. Основное внимание в рамках восьмого форума по вопросам будущего уделялось рассмотрению накопленного опыта и нерешенных проблем в области управления вопросами безопасности пациентов, стоящих перед участвующими в нем европейскими странами. Участники форума поставили перед собой задачу обменяться опытом в решении вопросов безопасности пациентов и извлечь из него полезные уроки, выявить пробелы в знаниях для изыскания путей улучшения управления вопросами безопасности пациентов, а также поддержать стремление международного сообщества к повышению уровня безопасности пациентов в Европейском регионе ВОЗ.

10 вопросов о здравоохранении в странах – новых соседях ЕС

С 1 мая 2004 г. в состав Европейского союза (ЕС) входят 25 членов, а 12 государств являются его новыми соседями. Между государствами - членами ЕС имеются различия в отношении состояния здоровья населения и уровня развития систем здравоохранения. Какие различия в области здравоохранения имеются между каждой из соседних стран и странами, являвшимися членами ЕС до мая 2004 г., ставшими его членами после этой даты, а также всеми 25 странами в целом? Данная публикация позволяет быстро и в удобной форме ознакомиться с основными показателями здоровья и системами здравоохранения в соседних с ЕС странах. В каждой главе приводится краткий обзор основных показателей здоровья в одной из 12 стран, в сравнении с 3 средними значениями по ЕС: для 25 нынешних государств-членов, 15 государств, являвшихся членами до мая 2004 г., и 10 новых государств-членов. В каждой главе в обобщенной форме приводятся также основные характеристики системы здравоохранения в стране и результаты реформ в области здравоохранения, продолжающихся более 10 лет. Eighth Futures Forum on governance of patient safety: Erpfendorf, Austria, 28–29 April 2005

Despite substantial improvements, European countries still have a large incidence of adverse effects from health interventions and powerful evidence of harm to patients. The Eighth Futures Forum on governance of patient safety focused on experience and open questions related to the governance of patient safety in participating European countries. The aim was to exchange and learn from experience on governing patient safety, to identify the knowledge gaps on how to improve the governance of patient safety and to support the international drive towards increasing patient safety in the WHO European Region.
