[Thermographic signs of forearm myopathies in industrial workers]. / Termograficheskie priznaki miopatozobv predplech'ia u promyshlennykh rabochikh.

The authors described thermographic sign of forearm myopathy similar to RSI in industrial workers. The sign is that upper third of the forearm has skin temperature higher by over 0.3 degree C (for associated cervical osteochondrosis--by over 0.5 degree C) as lower third of the forearm. The temperature gradient (up to 2.5 degrees C) appeared to correlate with more marked myopathy.

The investigators registered the curves of force and quickness in digital compression of transducer during 30 s at rate of 80 per minute. Force and quickness at the certain moments of the movements were measured, times of contraction and relaxation were estimated. The method enables to assess the parameters of muscular contractility, compare them and evaluate the functional state. Lower quickness of contraction is known as the first sign of muscular fatigue. The method is applicable in workshops, handy and fit for mass screening, enables to assess influence of work conditions on the worker's hands. The method is certified by an Authorship No 1683682.

[Treatment of pseudathrosis and defects of the lower part of the femoral bone]. / Lechenie lozhnykh sustavov i defektov bedrennoi kosti niskoi lokalizatsii.

A description of the methods of treatment, elaborated by the author for pseudarthrosis and defects located in the lower third of the femur, is given. Original clips devised by the author are described.
