RESUMO
Various epiphyseal neuropeptides, participating in regulation of the secretory processes, are capable of inducing systemic changes. This circumstance determines both pharmacological and therapeutic properties. The drug elitalamine, representing a polypeptide extract, ensures effective treatment of the immune system and brain disorders and tumors and allows a prophylaxis of tissue aging.

In the norm between epiphysis and adrenal cortex the unstable functional relations are established. During pathologic enhancement of adrenocortical activity, that causes the stress and psychic depression-related disorders in an emotional sphere, the epiphysial effects assume a stable restrained character. The major epiphysial hormone, melatonin, under pathology starts limiting the secretion of glucocorticoids eliminating in addition the behavioral disorders.

It has been demonstrated in experiments on rats that polypeptide factor isolated from the vascular wall of the cattle (vasonin) increases the time of blood coagulation and the platelet count, prolongs the time of the occurrence of aggregation, and raises deaggregation activity of the vascular wall.

Anterior and posterior hypothalamic areas were electrically stimulated in rabbits implanted electrodes and the blood was studied with the aid of thromboelastograph. The stimulation entail edregular changes in the blood coagulating system leading to hypocoagulation. However, on the background of artificial (heparine administration) or natural hypocoagulation the same stimulation accelerated the blood coagulation. The hypocoagulation occurring on hypothalamic stimulation is supposed to be of the secondary character, while the orientation of changes in the blood coagulating system after the brain stimulation depends on the initial level of hemocoagulation.
