RESUMO
Sixty patients were randomized to treatment with cytoflavin (n=30) or nootropil (n=30). Patients of the main group received cytoflavin along with standard treatment for correction of hemodynamics. The treatment scheme was as follows: intravenous injections during 10 days, tablets - from 11 to 35 days. The same scheme of treatment was used in the comparison group. The total duration was 35 days. Patients were assessed with NIHSS, the Rankin scale, the Barthel index, MMSE. MRI was used to verify ischemic lesions. The therapeutic efficacy of cytoflavin was significantly higher compared to nootropil in respect to the restoration of neurological functions and self-service abilities as well as to the reduction of cognitive deficit.

Proceeding from the existing notions about the neuroreflectory and neurohumoral changes in patients with vibration disease associated with impairment of the central mechanisms of hemodynamic regulation and functional involvement of the hypothalamic centres of vegetative regulation and reticular formation of the brain stem, the authors studied the efficacy of electric sleep in combination with drug therapy in 96 patients. Positive effect was elicited in 70% of those examined which makes it possible to consider electric sleep as an adequate pathogenetic method for treatment of angiodystonic syndromes of vibration disease.

Along with study of the working conditions and physiological parameters in operators of excavators and drilling rigs the author conducted clinico-physiological examination of 42 patients with vibration disease (VD) developing as a result of exposure to general vibration. Findings were obtained indicative of damage to various components of the central and peripheral nervous system characteristic of angiodystonic syndromes of the cerebroperipheral form and the syndrome of vegetative-sensory polyneuropathy with polyradicular disorders or the syndrome of neurasthenia. EEG revealed irregularity and disorganization of alpha-rhythm, as well as the absence of the zonal distribution of rhythms. REG revealed reduced pulse blood filling of the major cerebral vessels and impairment of their elastic-tonic properties. EMG showed both a low amplitude of oscillations and an interfering nature of the bioelectrical activity of muscles. The data obtained have helped to specify the clinical picture of VD in operators of excavators and drilling rigs which may help to improve the differential diagnosis.
