RESUMO

Nonspecific chronic vulvovaginitis (CNV) is often a clinical indicator of immune deficiency, especially in young girls. The established violations of the functioning of various parts of the immune system (IS) in this pathology dictate the need to include in the complex of immunomodulatory therapy. The developed program of combined immunotherapy for immunocompromised girls allows to reduce the severity and duration of exacerbation of CNV, their frequency against the background of a significant reduction in the incidence of ARVI. Positive clinical effects were observed against the background of the restoration of the functioning of the IS. A protective effect was obtained (observation in a catamnesis for 1 year) - the duration of a clinically safe period increased from 6 to 11-11,5 months per year.

RESUMO

The authors report the results of the study on the hormonal and psychovegetative status, functional activity of the vegetative nervous system, the level of activity of the protective and adaptive hemostatic mechanisms, and the clinical features of concomitant extragenital pathology in 90 adolescent girls suffering uterine bleeding. All the patients had gone through in-patient and out-patient phases of therapy, sixty of them were selected for the spa and resort rehabilitative treatment. The use of rehabilitative technologies on an individual basis at a spa and resort facility made it possible to ensure rather high efficacy of the combined therapeutic and preventive treatment of reproductive system pathology and concomitant psycho-vegetative disorders. It helped to decrease the frequency of relapses of uterine bleeding and exacerbation of the accompanying extragenital diseases.

RESUMO

Dependence of intensity of Drosophila virilis male sexual behaviour on age-related differences was studied. Most active proved to be those age periods which correlated with the time of S-esterase elevated activity. Courtship displays were compared in strains 101 and 160, interstrain differences correlating with the S-esterase activity level. As S-esterase plays an important role in fertilization, this relationship seems to be non-random. It is quite possible that the level of S-esterase activity regulates male sexual activity in natural populations. Some variations in male courtship display in interspecies hybrids (D. virilis x D. littoralis) were demonstrated which depended on the gene dose of respective species. It may well be that in the bk and dt gene regions those genes are localized which are responsible for courtship behaviour. The analysis of sexual behaviour in interstrain and interspecies hybrids proved to be successful approach to elucidating possible role of separate chromosomes in sexual behaviour determination.

RESUMO

Effect of alloxan on activity of acetylphosphatase, alkaline and acid phosphatases, phenylpyrophosphatase was studied in vitro. Alloxan at concentrations 100 microM-10 mM inhibited acid phosphatase and especially alkaline phosphatase. Reducing agents (pyrocatechol, hydroquinone, ascorbic acid), which are easily converted into corresponding oxidized forms, at concentrations 100 microM-1.0 mM activated alkaline phosphatase in rat kidney and small intestine.

RESUMO

Individual molecular forms of phosphoprotein phosphatase (PPase) and their inhibitors of the protein nature were isolated from rat heart muscle by means of column chromatography on DEAE Sephadex A-50. All the three fractions of PPase were capable to dephosphorylate casein but did not affect pyrophosphate. PPase I dephosphorylated trimethaphosphate or casein. The enzyme molecular forms were different from each other by the value of specific activity and sensitivity to heat treatment. Two protein inhibitors eluted by buffers of different ionic strength - 0.2 M and 1.6 M - were identified. One of them was inactivated during heat treatment (95 degrees 5 min), while the second inhibitor maintained completely its activity in these conditions.

RESUMO

Adenine- and uridine di- and triphosphates (in a 3 mM concentration) increase considerably phosphoprotein phosphatase (PPPase) (EC 3.1.3.16) activity of rat and chicken myocardium homogenates. AMP and Pi are effective inhibitors of the enzyme. The ATP activating effect is also shown in partially purified preparations of rat myocardium PPPase. ATP is able of protecting significantly the enzyme during its thermodenaturation.
