[A case of malignant intestinal lymphoma following a successful kidney transplant]. / Sluchai na malignen chreven limfom sled uspeshna bubrechna transplantatsiia.

A rare case (the first one described in Bulgaria) of malignant intestinal lymphoma, developing in a 50-year-old patient 9 years after transplantation of a normally functioning corpse kidney, is reported. Basic predisposing factor for the lymphoma was the long-term maintenance immunosuppressive therapy with azathioprine and corticosteroids. Apart from this finding, a dissecting aneurysm of the abdominal aorta with partially obliterating thrombus was found. The patient died in a state of severe toxemia of suppurative peritonitis after perforation of the intestines heavily affected by the lymphoma.

[Thal's operation in stenosing reflux esophagitis]. / Operatsiiata na Thal pri stenozirasht refluks-ezofagit.

The surgical treatment of esophageal strictures, developing on the basis of reflux esophagitis keeps on being an unsolved problem. A review of the literature is made and Thal's operation is given due consideration. The first successfully operated patient by this operative technique in Bulgaria is reported. The patient has been under observation, and the result of the operation is good.

[Villous tumors of the colon]. / Vorsinchatye opukholi tolstoi kishki.

Under observation there were 26 men and 15 women with villous tumors of the colon. Radical operations were performed on 26 patients. Two of them died in the postoperative period. Eighteen patients survived for more than 5 years.
