RESUMO

The taxonomic revision of the Anthaxia (Haplanthaxia) dispar Kerremans, 1898 species-group. Definition of the species-group and descriptions of three new species: Anthaxia (Haplanthaxia) aethiopica sp. nov. (Ethiopia), A. (H.) caerulea sp. nov. (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and A. (H.) occidentalis sp. nov. (Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo). New species are described, illustrated and compared with other species of the species-group. Anthaxia (H.) komareki Obenberger, 1931 is removed from the synonymy of A. (H.) pilifrons Kerremans, 1898 and it is treated as a separate species. New synonymy is suggested: A. (H.) dispar Kerremans, 1898 = A. (H.) hyperlasia Obenberger, 1928, syn. nov. All species are keyed and the questionable taxonomic position of A. (H.) vulpes Théry, 1930 is briefly discussed.

RESUMO

The subgeneric classification of the genus Anthaxia Eschscholtz, 1829 is discussed and two new subgenera are created: Capanthaxia subgen. nov. and Richteraxia subgen. nov. A key to the subgenera of Anthaxia is presented as well as the characteristics of all subgenera with their main diagnostic characters. The subgenus Capanthaxia subgen. nov. is divided into three species-groups: Anthaxia (C.) aterrima Kerremans, 1903 species-group, A. (C.) capensis Kerremans, 1903 species-group and A. (C.) sulcicollis Obenberger, 1928 species-group. All principal diagnostic characters are illustrated.

RESUMO

Since the catalogue of Buprestoidea was published (Bellamy, 2008-2009) we have been adding new taxa into the printed copy in the National Museum, Prague. During this work we have found some questionable descriptions which were published in the electronic publication "Procrustomachia" which has no official status and does not meet the requirements for the publication of scientific names in zoology; the names published in this way are unavailable according to the Code (ICZN, 1999, 2012). The situation is discussed in the following text.

RESUMO

Although the Buprestid fauna of the Sahel is relatively well-known many new species have been discovered in this region in the course of the last decades. Also many new species of the tribe Anthaxiini, whose life cycle is connected with the plant genus Acacia (Fabaceae), have been described since the last (and first) comprehensive study by Mateu (1972). This exhaustive paper deals with all insects developing in (or living on) Acacia spp. During the project dealing with the pests of the genus Acacia in Mauritania and Benin run by J. F. Vayssieres (IITA), a new species of Anthaxia Eschscholtz, 1829 was discovered; the description of this new species is given in this paper.

RESUMO

The type specimens of the genus Anthaxia Eschscholtz, 1829 described from Angola by A. Théry (1947) were studied, critically evaluated and some of them synonymised: Anthaxia (Cratomerus) reticollis Quedenfeldt, 1886 = A. (C.) coelestis Théry, 1947, syn. nov., A. (Haplanthaxia) egena Kerremans, 1913 = A. (H.) decimata Théry, 1947, syn. nov., A. (H.) duvivieri Kerremans, 1898 = A. (H.) eumede Théry, 1947, syn. nov., A. (H.) mashuna Obenberger, 1931 = A. (H.) morula Théry, 1947, syn. nov. and A. (H.) sjoestedti Kerremans, 1908 = A. (H.) recisa Théry, 1947, syn. nov. The male of A. (H.) monardi Théry, 1947 is briefly described and A. (H.) puchneri Bílý, 2014 is shortly discussed. All mentioned species and the relevant types of the newly synonymised species are illustrated.

RESUMO

Study on the genus Agrilaxia Kerremans, 1903 from Venezuela. Altogether eight species were recorded from this country, four of them are described in this paper: Agrilaxia (Agrilaxia) biformis sp. nov., A. (A.) michaeli sp. nov., A. (A.) stephani sp. nov. and A. (A.) venezuelana sp. nov. All species are illustrated and new species are compared with the most similar/related species. A male of Agrilaxia (A.) balloui Fisher, 1942 is described and the male genitalia are illustrated. New country records are given for Agrilaxia (A.) balloui, A. (A.) costaricensis Obenberger, 1922, A. (A.) glabra Bílý & Brûlé 2013 and A. (A.) simillima Cobos, 1972.

(A.) nitidula Linnaeus, 1758 species-group are described, illustrated and compared with the most similar species. RESUMO

A detailed description of the mature larva of Coomaniella (Coomaniella) purpurascens Baudon, 1966 and a discussion of the taxonomic position of the tribe Coomaniellini Bílý, 1974 are presented. Larva is fully illustrated including details of the mouth parts and inner structures of the proventriculus. The larval characters support the tribal status of Coomaniellini with close relations to the tribe Dicercini Gistel, 1884 in contrast with the former placement of the tribe near Anthaxiini Gory & Laporte, 1839.

RESUMO

Revision of the Neotropical genera of the subtribe Anthaxiina Gory & Laporte, 1839 (Coleoptera, Buprestidae, Buprestinae, Anthaxiini). Five new genera are described: Anthaxita gen. n., Charlesina gen. n., Cobosina gen. n., Marikia gen. n. and Sanchezia gen. n. Genus Agrilaxia Kerremans, 1903 is divided into two subgenera: Agrilaxia and Costiptera subgen. n. and the genus Bilyaxia Holynski, 1989 is divided into three subgenera: Bilyaxia, Paraguayetta subgen. n. and Tomasia subgen. n. One new species is described: Anthaxita peruviana sp. n., and two informal species-groups are suggested within Agrilaxia (Costiptera subgen. n.): Agrilaxia (Costiptera) modesta (Kerremans, 1897) species-group and Agrilaxia (Costiptera) occidentalis (Kerremans, 1900) species-group. Lectotype is designated for Agrilaxia mrazi Obenberger, 1932. A key of all genera/subgenera is provided and all treated taxa are illustrated.
