RESUMO

Diagnostic methods using a Pulsar radar measuring computer unit have been developed. The methods are based on the contactless recording of respiratory parameters and pulse and they evaluate human body's functions in real time from the measurements of the duration of cardiac rhythms and calculate the differential function of their distribution and the spectrum of a cardiac rhythmogram.

RESUMO

The article covers results of long-standing hygienic investigations analyzing the occupational factors development in technologic process of nonmetalliferous building materials production, ferroconcrete large-panel constructions production and their assembling during various seasons and shift times. The study pointed out the main hazards influencing the quality of workplace in the stated enterprises. The hazards are hygienically evaluated in connection with the functional parameters of cardiovascular, central nervous and muscular systems, thermoregulation, work hardiness and strain.

RESUMO

Forty six patients with stable effort angina were treated with a combination of propranolol, nifedipine, and isosorbide dinitrate which produced a more profound anti-antianginal effect than each of them given alone. The combination also exerted more marked antihypertensive and antiarrhythmic effects. The combined therapy with the three drugs caused a moderate reduction in heart rate and peripheral resistance, but failed to result in clear-cut disturbances in the orthostatic regulation of the circulatory system. There was a more infrequent and less pronounced ST-segment depression, less marked pressor responses and higher heart rate with the combined therapy during exercise; the cardiac index also increased as before therapy. Physical fitness increased to a greater extent than with monotherapy. The combined therapy with three drugs is indicated when monotherapy fails and that with two agents is indicated when patients have concurrent essential hypertension and cardiac arrhythmias.

RESUMO

Performed was a hygienic assessment of the occupational microclimate conditions in constructional industry site in Tajikistan. The article provides data on the work load and heat-related state of workers in major professions. It was established that, in the hot and dry climate conditions, the major factor is infavourable microclimate: heat in summer and cold in winter, which resulted in heat disbalances in workers.

RESUMO

The article contains data on the evaluation of the physical and neuropsychic load, thermoregulation processes', CVS and CNS and neuro-muscular states in the workers engaged in ore crushing equipment service, in particular, in sand and gravel extraction enterprises in Tadzhikistan, USSR. It was established that the major unfavourable occupational factor lay in physical overload against neuropsychic strain resulting into marked changes in CVS, CNS, thermoregulation and neuro-muscular state. The contributors provided hygienic recommendation for labour conditions improvements.

RESUMO

The study was designed to analyze microclimatic conditions in the cabs of excavating machines and dump trucks during warm and cold seasons and to study their impact on body thermoregulatory processes in excavator and truck drivers. The study findings revealed that microclimate was especially unfavourable during a warm season. Inducators of body thermal state gave evidence that such working conditions generated stresses in thermoregulatory processes. Work during cold seasons caused some body cooling, especially at the beginning of the shift. The data thus obtained enabled one to elaborate health-improving measures aimed at optimization of workplace microclimate, rationalization of work/recreation regimen and drinking habits.

RESUMO

Bicycle ergometry was performed in 143 normal male residents of Ashkhabad in different seasons of the year. In cool weather, the direction and magnitude of hemodynamic response to exercise in Ashkhabad residents were similar to those of people from milder climatic zones. In summer, exercise-related systolic and diastolic blood pressure and the stroke index were smaller as compared to the respective values of the cool season. During the transition period (i.e. first hot summer days), blood pressure and the stroke index were the lowest, and the heart rate was somewhat increased. In hot weather, exercise produced a greater reduction in the circulating blood volume and a greater increase in the hematocrit value. Thirteen (9%) subjects with poor tolerance of hot weather were identified in the screened population. In these, hemodynamic shifts were similar to those observed in most normal subjects during inadequate acclimatization of the first hot summer days.

RESUMO

The active orthostatic test was used to investigate 164 normal male residents of Ashkhabad during the cool season, 143 in summer and 66 during the transition period, i. e. first hot summer days. During the cool season, the pattern and markedness of orthostatic circulatory shifts in Ashkhabad residents were similar to those observed in moderate climate. In summer, orthostatic drop in systolic BP, cardiac index and circulating blood volume is more pronounced as compared to values of the cool season, while the rise in heart rate and diastolic BP is less pronounced. Orthostatic shifts are the most marked in the first hot days of summer: systolic BP, stroke and cardiac indices drop considerably, whereas diastolic BP and peripheral resistance to blood flow remain unchanged or slightly increase, with heart rate showing the most marked rise.
