RESUMO

Periodical silver nanoparticle (NP) arrays were fabricated by magnetron sputtering method with anodic aluminum oxide templates to enhance the UV light emission from ZnO by the surface plasmon resonance effect. Theoretical simulations indicated that the surface plasmon resonance wavelength depended on the diameter and space of Ag NP arrays. By introducing Ag NP arrays with the diameter of 40 nm and space of 100 nm, the photoluminescence intensity of the near band-edge emission from ZnO was twofold enhanced. Time-resolved photoluminescence measurement and energy band analysis indicated that the UV light emission enhancement was attributed to the coupling between the surface plasmons in Ag NP arrays and the excitons in ZnO with the improved spontaneous emission rate and enhanced local electromagnetic fields.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether Pi (Spleen) qi-deficiency affected psychological and neural responses in relevance to cognitive control. METHODS: Pi qi-deficient and balanced participants were asked to perform the Stroop task, a classical cognitive control paradigm. In this paradigm, participants had to judge the color of the prompted word. The word's meaning indicated the color (the consistent condition) or not (the inconsistent condition), or were unrelated to the color (the neutral condition). Electroencephalograph (EEG) was recorded during the task. RESULTS: Event-related potential (ERP) results showed that Pi qi-deficient individuals failed to exhibit a normal Stroop effect as Balanced individuals did, such as the accuracy differences between the consistent and the inconsistent conditions as well as the N450 effect (P>0.05). Meanwhile, Pi qi-deficient individuals displayed larger P2 and P3 amplitudes than balanced individuals did during performing the cognitive control task (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Pi qi-deficiency had psychological and neural basis at least in cognitive control aspect.

RESUMO

Curly is a easily distinguishable dominant mutant wing character. The Cy mutation is the most commonly used dominant marker for the second chromosome balancers in Drosophila melanogaster, but little is known about the Cy gene. Based on known genomic and cytogenetic information, a 102 bp deletion which is located between the Genes synaptotagmin (syt) and Activin Like Protein at 23B(Alp23B) on the Drosophila melanogaster genome (release 4) had been found to be commonly contained on Cy chromosome in three different curly strains. Meanwhile, when using the deletion as a DNA marker, the result suggested that Cy homozygote be lethal in embryo period. These results will provide some helpful information to investigate molecular mechanism of curly wings in the further study.
