RESUMO

BACKGROUND: ImputAccur is a software tool to measure genotype-imputation accuracy. Imputation of untyped markers is a standard approach in genome-wide association studies to close the gap between directly genotyped and other known DNA variants. However, high accuracy for imputed genotypes is fundamental. Several accuracy measures have been proposed, but unfortunately, they are implemented on different platforms, which is impractical. RESULTS: With ImputAccur, the accuracy measures info, Iam-hiQ and r2-based indices can be derived from standard output files of imputation software. Sample/probe and marker filtering is possible. This allows e.g. accurate marker filtering ahead of data analysis. CONCLUSIONS: The source code (Python version 3.9.4), a standalone executive file, and example data for ImputAccur are freely available at https://gitlab.gwdg.de/kolja.thormann1/imputationquality.git .

RESUMO

As autonomous navigation is being implemented in several areas including the maritime domain, the need for robust tracking is becoming more important for traffic situation awareness, assessment and monitoring. We present an online repository comprising three designated marine radar datasets from real-world measurement campaigns to be employed for target detection and tracking research purposes. The datasets have their respective reference positions on the basis of the Automatic Identification System (AIS). Together with the methods used for target detection and clustering, a novel baseline algorithm for an extended centroid-based multiple target tracking is introduced and explained. We compare the performance of our algorithm to its standard version on the datasets using the AIS references. The results obtained and some initial dataset specific analysis are presented. The datasets, under the German Aerospace Centre (DLR)'s terms and agreements, can be procured from the company website's URL provided in the article.

High-resolution automotive radar sensors play an increasing role in detection, classification and tracking of moving objects in traffic scenes. Clustering is frequently used to group detection points in this context. However, this is a particularly challenging task due to variations in number and density of available data points across different scans. Modified versions of the density-based clustering method DBSCAN have mostly been used so far, while hierarchical approaches are rarely considered. In this article, we explore the applicability of HDBSCAN, a hierarchical DBSCAN variant, for clustering radar measurements. To improve results achieved by its unsupervised version, we propose the use of cluster-level constraints based on aggregated background information from cluster candidates. Further, we propose the application of a distance threshold to avoid selection of small clusters at low hierarchy levels. Based on exemplary traffic scenes from nuScenes, a publicly available autonomous driving data set, we test our constraint-based approach along with other methods, including label-based semi-supervised HDBSCAN. Our experiments demonstrate that cluster-level constraints help to adjust HDBSCAN to the given application context and can therefore achieve considerably better results than the unsupervised method. However, the approach requires carefully selected constraint criteria that can be difficult to choose in constantly changing environments.

BACKGROUND: The loss of a hand is a traumatic experience that substantially compromises an individual's capability to interact with his environment. The myoelectric prostheses are state-of-the-art (SoA) functional replacements for the lost limbs. Their overall mechanical design and dexterity have improved over the last few decades, but the users have not been able to fully exploit these advances because of the lack of effective and intuitive control. Bimanual tasks are particularly challenging for an amputee since prosthesis control needs to be coordinated with the movement of the sound limb. So far, the bimanual activities have been often neglected by the prosthetic research community. METHODS: We present a novel method to prosthesis control, which uses a semi-autonomous approach in order to simplify bimanual interactions. The approach supplements the commercial SoA two-channel myoelectric control with two additional sensors. Two inertial measurement units were attached to the prosthesis and the sound hand to detect the movement of both limbs. Once a bimanual interaction is detected, the system mimics the coordination strategies of able-bodied subjects to automatically adjust the prosthesis wrist rotation (pronation, supination) and grip type (lateral, palmar) to assist the sound hand during a bimanual task. The system has been evaluated in eight able-bodied subjects performing functional uni- and bi-manual tasks using the novel method and SoA two-channel myocontrol. The outcome measures were time to accomplish the task, semi-autonomous system misclassification rate, subjective rating of intuitiveness, and perceived workload (NASA TLX). RESULTS: The results demonstrated that the novel control interface substantially outperformed the SoA myoelectric control. While using the semi-autonomous control the time to accomplish the task and the perceived workload decreased for 25 and 27%, respectively, while the subjects rated the system as more intuitive then SoA myocontrol. CONCLUSIONS: The novel system uses minimal additional hardware (two inertial sensors) and simple processing and it is therefore convenient for practical implementation. By using the proposed control scheme, the prosthesis assists the user's sound hand in performing bimanual interactions while decreasing cognitive burden.
