RESUMO

The program is tested on the material of 882 autopsy protocols. All parts of clinical and pathology diagnoses were included into the generation of the data base. Automatized analysis allowed to assess main characteristics of the patient material with a histogram demonstration of group statistics according to all positions considered as well as to obtain information on the influence of more complex pathology diagnosis of a main disease, sex and age on the frequency of clinical diagnosis mistakes.

RESUMO

The paper describes a case of lepromatous lepra diagnosed from the skin biopsy specimen taken in a 23-year-old male patient. It provides histologic signs that are beneficial for correct diagnosis. Emphasis is placed upon the necessity for staining by the Ziehl-Neelsen method to detect microorganisms in infiltrative and granulomatous skin lesions.

RESUMO

The authors analyse the literature data and propose original assumptions on the role of deranged cellular alterations and persistent carriage of viruses in secondary immunodeficiencies. These are suggested to promote the onset of tumor or tumor-like growth by means of compensatory mechanisms of proliferation enhanced in the conditions of local disorder of immunocompetent cells cooperation.

RESUMO

A combined histological, histochemical, histoenzymochemical and morphometric study of 42 articular cartilage samples from patients with different degrees of osteoarthrosis (OA) was made. Ten cartilages without pathology taken at autopsy were used as controls. A characteristic feature in case of cartilage destruction by OA is a progressive loss of glycosaminoglycans (GAG) from the matrix with its defibrination and uzur formation. Decrease in GAG content is associated with partial destruction of chondrocytes and the emergence of cellular clones reflecting reparative regeneration of the cartilage. However, even at the early OA stage the reparation is not adequate, as the GAG content in the matrix at the sites of chondrocyte proliferation remains decreased compared to the control age group.

RESUMO

The authors presented an analysis of 10 cases of eosinophilic fasciitis (EF): 6 men and 4 women aged 18 to 55. In 4 patients the disease followed excessive physical exercise. Pronounced induration of the limb tissues with the development of flexion contractures, hypereosinophilia prevailed in the clinical picture of the disease, morphology showed a picture of fasciitis. A positive time course was noted in the presence of corticosteroid therapy which in 2 patients was combined with azathioprine and carbohemoperfusion. Besides, there was a patient with the combination of the classical signs of scleredema and EF. EF appears to be a nosological entity. The probability of combined forms requires a further study.

RESUMO

In persons 17-83 years of age having no articular disorders 39 samples of the patellar articular cartilage, the articulated surface and the femoral head have been studied histochemically, histometrically and electron microscopically. Age involution of the articular cartilage is revealed after 40 years of age as a progressive decrease in chondrocytes density in the superficial and (to a less degree) in the intermediate zones. This is accompanied with a decreasing number of 3- and 4-cellular lacunae and with an increasing number of unicellular and hollow lacunae. In some chondrocytes certain distrophic and necrotic changes are revealed. In the articular matrix the zone with the minimal content of glycosaminoglycans becomes thicker and keratansulfate content in the territorial matrix of the cartilage deep zone grows large.
