RESUMO

The purpose of the study is to analyze the condition of the oral cavity tissues to choose the method of adhesive splinting of the anterior teeth. Increasing the efficiency of patient curation strategies and tactics based on forecasting the functional capabilities of the dental and periodontal complex. In the period from 2017 and 2021, 81 male and female patients aged 35 to 45 years were examined and treated for preventive examination and rehabilitation at the University Clinic Educational and Medical Center of Bukovinian State Medical University and diagnosed with periodontitis of varying severity. The following criteria were taken into account when forming patient groups: type of bite, absence of foci of chronic infection in the body, absence of multiple lesions of hard dental tissues, depth of periodontal pocket. During the examination, attention was paid to the shape of the dental arch, the inclination of the crowns of the teeth in the anterior region, the location of individual teeth, occlusion, the state of the oral vestibule (places of attachment of the transitional fold, depth, presence of gingival recession). Among the pathological conditions that interfere with splinting, the following were identified: traumatic occlusion (95.7%), anomalies in the location of individual teeth, fan-shaped tooth separation, crowded teeth (73.5%), pathology of the oral vestibule (46.7%), and the third degree of tooth mobility. These pathological conditions required preliminary orthodontic preparation or surgical treatment. The predominant complaints in periodontal tissue diseases were gum bleeding when brushing teeth (82.7%), tooth mobility of varying degrees (80.2%), bad breath (40.7%), and tooth bleeding when eating (30.8%). Oral hygiene was not maintained by 45.6% of the surveyed. The pathology of the attachment of the transitional fold of the oral cavity was detected in 46.7% of patients, that is, almost half of the examined. Abnormalities of the position of individual teeth were found in 73.5% of the examined. Traumatic occlusion was detected in 95.7% of the subjects.

RESUMO

The aim of the study was to develop the most optimal variant for placing the reinforcing element of a fiberglass splint with the mobility of the anterior teeth on the basis of a parallelometric study of the diagnostic models of the jaws depending on the type of occlusion and the degree of bone resorption. For the most optimal variant of the placement of the reinforcing element of the adhesive splint with orthognathic bite and deep incisal overlap, the front slope of the model was selected with the transfer of the reinforcing element of the adhesive splint onto the lingual surface. With direct, prognathic and progenic bite and bone resorption up to » height (according to retrography data), the back slope of the model was selected with the placement of the reinforcing element of the adhesive splint on the vestibular surface of the lower jaw. The disadvantage of locating the reinforcing element on the lingual surface when the incisors were crowded was that after the application of the splint and inter-proximal adaptation, the change in the position of the teeth was not corrected. On the contrary, when applying an adhesive splint on the vestibular surface with the help of restoration, it was possible to completely restore the original position of the teeth and fix it for a long time.

RESUMO

UNLABELLED: The evaluation of the psychological condition of the patients who survived myocardial infarction and its correction taking into consideration the peculiar features of the individual reaction to the disease are the indispensable components of physical rehabilitation. The present article was designed to report the results of the study on the influence of the authors' physical rehabilitation program on the prevalence of depression and the life quality characteristics of the patients treated after myocardial infarction during the follow-up period. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The patients of the main group (n=30) were enrolled in the original physical rehabilitation program. Those comprising the group of comparison (n=30) were given a course of rehabilitation in accordance with the scheme that had been recommended by the leading scientists and generally accepted in the Ukraine for the patients recovering after myocardial infarction under conditions of the out-patient clinics, spa and health resort facilities or convalescent centers. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The study has demonstrated that the patients of both groups exhibited positive dynamics of their clinical condition (e.g. the decrease in the number of depressed subjects); however, this tendency was more pronounced in the main group where the number of the patients experiencing depression decreased by 61% at the end of the observation period (р<0,05). The analysis of the causes of anxiety associated with this pathology in the individual patients has demonstrated that the main factors responsible for the deterioration of the quality of life were the necessity of treatment, the limitations on the everyday physical activity, and the feeling of emotional tension. Moreover, the positive dynamics of the characteristics being evaluated was documented in the patients of the main group which gives reason to conclude that the program of physical rehabilitation proposed by the authors for the treatment of the patients after myocardial infarction is highly efficient during the follow-up period. Suffice it to say that 23 (76,7%) patients of the main group did not consider their lives as of poor quality by the end of the study period (р<0,01). There were only 18 such patients in the control group (р<0,05). CONCLUSION: The results of the present study provide a basis for recommending the proposed authors' program of physical rehabilitation for the patients treated after myocardial infarction with the emphasis on the necessity to do special dynamic exercises for the cervical and thoraco-cervical spine segments to be supplemented by the relevant educational program.

RESUMO

The aim of this study was biomechanical rationale for splinting mobile teeth with periodontitis according to the height and slope of teeth crowns, their degree of mobility, and type of occlusion. The research studied the effect of axial vertical and horizontal loads on the functioning of the proposed method of splinting. Set clear indications and contraindications for the use of the method of splinting. Biomechanically proven unreasonableness includes teeth with III degree of mobility in the splinted construction. Clinical variant of splinting is only possible at the height of the anatomical crowns of the teeth of at least 7 mm, otherwise the preferred laboratory methods for the manufacture of tires.

RESUMO

One of the prominent consequences of the symbiogenic origin of eukaryotic cells is the unique presence of one particular class of phospholipids, cardiolipin (CL), in mitochondria. As the product originated from the evolution of symbiotic bacteria, CL is predominantly confined to the inner mitochondrial membrane in normally functioning cells. Recent findings identified CL and its oxidation products as important participants and signaling molecules in the apoptotic cell death program. Early in apoptosis, massive membrane translocations of CL take place resulting in its appearance in the outer mitochondrial membrane. Consequently, significant amounts of CL become available for the interactions with cyt c, one of the major proteins of the intermembrane space. Binding of CL with cytochrome c (cyt c) yields the cyt c/CL complex that acts as a potent CL-specific peroxidase and generates CL hydroperoxides. In this review, we discuss the catalytic mechanisms of CL oxidation by the peroxidase activity of cyt c as well as the role of oxidized CL (CLox) in the release of pro-apoptotic factors from mitochondria into the cytosol. Potential implications of cyt c/CL peroxidase intracellular complexes in disease conditions (cancer, neurodegeneration) are also considered. The discovery of the new role of cyt c/CL complexes in early mitochondrial apoptosis offers interesting opportunities for new targets in drug discovery programs. Finally, exit of cyt c from damaged and/or dying (apoptotic) cells into extracellular compartments and its accumulation in biofluids is discussed in lieu of the formation of its peroxidase complexes with negatively charged lipids and their significance in the development of systemic oxidative stress in circulation.

RESUMO

Strain LEIV-776P, possessing no haemagglutinating activity was isolated in 1971 in the Primorie region (U.S.S.R.) from Haemaphysalis longicornis Neumann 1091 tick. Complement fixation (CF) tests revealed no antigenic relationship with 24 antigenic groups of arboviruses or 21 ungrouped viruses isolated from ticks. The virus isolate contains RNA and is relatively sensitive to ether and sodium deoxycholate; it is pathogenic for suckling mice and two-week-old white mice by the intracerebral route, and replicates in primary cultures of chick and duck fibroblasts and green monkey kidneys and in a continuous line of pig embryo kidney cells without any cytopathic effect. According to electron microscopy, its size is 90-110 nm. Its morphological properties permit to classify it as a member of the family Bunyaviridae.
