[The surgical treatment of ovarian formations by a laparoscopic approach]. / Khirurgicheskoe lechenie obrazovanii iaichnikov laparoskopicheskim dostupom.

This study was aimed at assessment of the efficacy of surgical treatment of bulky formations in the ovaries. Surgical laparoscopy for benign tumors and tumor-like processes in the ovaries was carried out in 548 patients. The operations were performed for benign tumors (17%), tumor-like formations (23%), endometrioid cysts (16%), polycystic ovaries (14%), gonadal dyskinesia (2%), and stable menstrual dysfunction (24%). The size of ovarian formations varied from 2 to 8 cm. Partial or clinoid resection of the ovaries, adnexectomy, oophorectomy, removal of the parovarian cyst, or extended biopsy of the ovaries were carried out. The results were good. No relapses were recorded. Blood loss was virtually null. The mean duration of an operation was 67.34 +/- 10.5 min. Follow-up of 6 months to 3 years revealed no adhesions in 34.2% cases and first-degree adhesions in 65.8%.

[Experience with the use of the CO2 laser in reconstructive and plastic gynecologic surgery in patients with uterine myoma and endometriosis]. / Opyt ispol'zovaniia CO2-lazera pri rekonstruktivnopla sticheskikh operatsiiakh u bol'nykh miomoi matki i endometriozom.

CO2 laser has been used during reconstructive plastic surgery for uterine myoma, endometriosis of various locations, and associated gynecologic conditions in 71 patients. Comparison in patients with uterine myoma who underwent conservative myomectomy with and without the use of CO2 laser showed that treatment with CO2 laser diminished blood loss and duration of the operation, and improved postoperative progress.

[Analysis of plasma levels of dehydroepiandrosterone and 17-hydroxyprogesterone in physiologic and pathologic pregnancy and labor]. / Dinamicheskoe opredelenie kontsentratsii degidroépiandrosterona i 17-oksiprogesterona v plazme krovi pri fiziologicheskom i patologicheskom techenii beremennosti i rodov.

Plasma levels of dehydroepiandrosterone (DEA) and 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17-HP) were studied in 43 pregnant females 11 with normal pregnancy and labor and 32 at high risk of obstetric complications (primary powerless labor, prematurity, postmaturity, rapid parturition). Hormonal investigation was performed in each particular female in the time-course of her pregnancy and labor as well as in the mixed blood plasma from the umbilical cord. Concentrations of hormones observed in the females with normal pregnancies and labors differed from those in the patients whose pregnancy was complicated as well as their labor. It has been concluded that the results of DEA and 17-HP variation assessment in the blood plasma are essential additional indicators of adrenal performance both in mother and fetus.
