[Value of ultrasonics in differential diagnosis of pseudotumor hydatid cyst of the liver and other solid hepatic masses (prospective study)]. / Valeur des ultra-sons dans le diagnostic différentiel du kyste hydatique pseudo-tumoral du foie et des autres masses hépatiques solides (etude prospective).

A prospective study in 88 consecutive patients with solid hepatic mass was performed to determine the value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of pseudo-tumoral hydatid cyst. Ultrasonography systematically searched 5 evocative signs: hypoechoic spiral, peripheric hypoechoic rim surrounded by an echoic border, daughter cysts, hyperechoic areas with shadowing and/or enhancement of back-wall echos. Diagnosis of pseudo-tumoral hydatid cyst was based upon the association of, at least, 2 signs. The sensitivity of echography was 92.3% and the specificity was 98.3%. Furthermore this study allow us to propose a new, more accurate, definition of the hydatid spiral. However, serologic tests were found to be of little interest.

[Pseudotumoral abdominal cysto-steato-necrosis: an unusual etiology]. / Cystostéatonécrose abdominale pseudo-tumorale: une étiologie inhabituelle.

We report an unusual case of subcutaneous pseudo-neoplastic focal fat necrosis in a woman with a Mersilen plate placed outside the abdominal wall muscles. To our knowledge, this association has not been previously reported in the radiologic literature. The differential diagnosis using ultrasound and computerized tomography is discussed.

[Esophageal duplications: role of computed tomography. Apropos of 2 cases]. / Duplications oesophagiennes: place de la tomodensitométrie. A propos de deux cas.

The authors present two cases of oesophageal duplication: tubular in one case and cystic in the other. This rare anomaly was identified in both cases by CT scan. A review of literature is proposed.

[Spontaneous cerebrospinal rhinorrhea: role of computerized opaque cisternography]. / Rhinorrhée cérébro-spinale spontanée: place de la cisternographie opaque computérisée.

Spontaneous CSF rhinorrhoea, secondary to trauma in the great majority of cases, is very rare (3-4%). The authors report a case of spontaneous CSF rhinorrhoea secondary to an ethmoidal osteodural defect, diagnosed by digital cisternography and confirmed by the surgical operation. The value of digital opaque cisternography and its place in the diagnostic arsenal are discussed.

[Measurement of the obstetrical pelvis by tomodensitometry (110 cases)]. / Mensurations du bassin obstetrical par tomodensitometrie (à propos de 110 cas).

We had studied in one year 110 cases of scano-pelvimetry, the clinical examination had not found a shrink pound in 41%, revealed by the sceno-pelvimetry. This method is more precisely than the classic pelvimetry, but more expansive. The simultaneous study of echography and pelvimetry had contributed to a better obstetrical decision.

[Hemorrhagic complications revealing renal angiomyolipoma. Apropos of 2 cases]. / Complications hémorragiques révélatrices d'angiomyolipome rénal. A propos de 2 cas.

Renal angiomyolipomas are rare benign tumors, which are most often discovered with ultrasonography, owing to the hyperechogenicity of their fatty component, and with computed tomography. The authors report about two cases of severe hemorrhagic complications revealing a renal angiomyolipoma, for which computed tomography made a preoperative diagnosis possible.

[Tumor of the bone palate in tertiary syphilis. Contribution of x-ray computed tomography]. / Tumeur du palais osseux sur syphilis tertiaire. Apport de la TDM.

The authors report the case of two patients presenting with increased bone density and lytic lesions of the skull due to tertiary syphilis. A malignant tumor has late developed on these lesions. Only one patient was imaged with CT Scan which was very useful to determine the tumoral extension.

The authors report about one case of hydatid cyst of the right kidney with a fissure opening into the duodenum. They emphasize the exceptional character of this complication, as well as the importance of imaging for its diagnosis.

The authors report one exceptional case of organic small bowel occlusion. The etiological diagnosis was performed by ultrasonographic examination and showed two hydatid cysts of the liver opened into the peritoneum and a peritoneal fluid collection corresponding to the hydatid fluid. The authors emphasize the absence of clinical symptoms during the opening of the hydatid cysts of the liver into the peritoneum and the usefulness of emergency ultrasonographic examination of the entire abdomen in cases of small bowel obstruction without any evident etiology.

[Teratoma of the parotid region: an uncommon disease. Apropos of a case with review of the literature]. / Le tératome de la région parotidienne: une affection exceptionnelle. A propos d'un cas avec revue de la littérature.

Cervicofacial teratoma is an infrequently reported tumor that is usually diagnosed at birth and is very rarely seen after one year of age. In the case reported, an exceptional finding was a teratoma of the parotid region in an adolescent. A literature review underlines the rarity of the lesion, diagnosis being assisted by radiologic and CT scan imaging.
