RESUMO
The data on a complex radionuclide examination of veins of lower extremities carried out in the course of diagnosis of phlebothrombosis in cases of cancer of cervix uteri are presented. Radionuclide measurements with 125I-fibrinogen were carried out for diagnosis of venous thrombosis in lower extremities in 38 surgical patients and the signs of thrombosis were identified in 8 cases (21.1%). Phleboscintigraphy using 99mTc-labeled MAA was performed in 18 patients in order to preoperatively evaluate the status of deep veins of the lower extremities. In cases of symptoms of venous disease, phleboscintigrams showed such pathological features as construction or dilation of veins, foci of accumulated 99mTc-labeled MAA and collateral blood flow.

The modifying influence of anaestesia on tumourigenic process (its stimulative or inhibitory effect upon tumour and metastasis growth) was established. It may occur indirectly, i.e. through endocrine link of the host-tumour system, and due to cytostatic effect of the anaesthetic drug (fluothane in particular).

A comparative assessment was made between different kinds of anesthesia used with diagnostic purposes in fibroscopy such as anesthesia with fluothane--nitrous oxide, anesthesia with trilene, the sombrevin--seduxen intravenous anesthesia and local anesthesia. Observations were performed in 127 patients. The authors consider local anesthesia to be the method of choice in diagnostic fibrobronchoscopy. In cases when the local anesthesia can not be used it is expedient to employ the intravenous sombrevin--seduxen anesthesia.

The study of blood coagulability in the coarse of combination (77 cases) and surgical (17 cases) treatment of endometrial carcinoma showed that surgery is followed by an increased plasma tolerance to heparin, a raised fibrinogen level and a lowered fibrinolytic activity. Therefore, surgery promotes blood coagulability, thus increasing the risk of thromboembolic complications in endometrial cancer patients in postoperative period. Preoperative hormonotherapy seems to contribute to this risk since it increases blood coagulability and delays its normalization in postoperative period.

Method of correlation and regression analysis in a computor was used which enabled the authors to make a formula of the relationship between the development of complications after radical operations for carcinoma of the colon and rectum (583 patients). The authors have made a classification of the degrees of complication risk which is sufficiently simple for practical use.

The functional state of the adrenal glands diring surgical and combination treatment was examined in 38 radically operated patients with pulmonary cancer. Irradiation of lung cancer patients was found to stimulate the adrenal glands activity followed by reduction of their potentalities, manifested in a less marked increase of the catecholamines level and decreased 11-OCS level in blood during surgical treatment.

The inoculation of sarcoma-37 against the background of the ganglionary blockade, provided by the intraperitoneal injection of 1 ml of pentamine, is not associated with its less take rate, but there is a manifest suppression of the tumor growth during the period up to 63 days. A preliminary ganglionary blockade completely eliminates the stimulating effect of a trauma on the tumor growth.

The authors have studied the efficacy of narcotic analgesics in the postoperative period by a complex method, including a psychosomatic questionnaire, spirography, volumetry, analgesiometry, as well as a examination of the cardiovascular system and acid-base balance. Under examination were 183 patients subjected to surgery for tumors of the female genitalia and rectum (a lower laparatomy). The analgesic activity of promedol, omnopone, morphine and polyvinly-morpholidone in routine doses was estimated. It was noted that, if not contraindicated, narcotic analgesics may be successfully employed for analgesia in the early postoperative period.

The changes of the circulating blood volume in patients after amputatio interilioabdominalis (10), amputatio interscapulothoracica (7), amputatio femoris (15) were studied. The blood loss was compensated for in the ratio of 1/1. A relative hypervolemia at the rate per 1 kg of body mass was observed in the early postoperative period.

Based on the study of the causes of rehospitalization of 323 patients. Previously operated upon for rectal cancer, it was found that 91 patients developed late postoperative complications, 96 - recurrences, 45 - distant metastases and 51 - metachronous tumors. Among surgical complications colostome strictures in the anal region (37), mucosa prolapse (26) and paracolonic fistulas (23) were most frequently observed. The analysis of treatment for tumor recurrences (96) and distant metastases (45) indicated that surgical excision seems to be mostly effective as a radical procedure. The effect of electrocoagulation in recurrences is somewhate inferior to surgery but still it is appreciable enough. The use of irradiation, chemotherapy, palliative operations fails to produce any appreciable effect on patients' lifeterms.

According to the authors' data, a repeated surgical intervention, aimed at the restoration of normal passage of the intestinal contents, is possible after the Gartmann's operation. 10 to 12 months should be considered as an optimal interval between the first and second operations. The authors believe that coloplasty associated with end-to-end anastomosis (when the rectal stump is long enough) - a modification of Soavé and Duhamel coloplasty (in case of a short rectal stump) - is a method of choice. The results of Bondar's operation are not so good.

The authors report the data on changes in some indices of the hemodynamics, red blood, total blood serum protein, the circulatory volume and amount of the operative blood loss in radical surgical treatment of patients with cancer of the esophagus and cardia. Depending on the kind of anesthesia all patients were subdivided into three groups: in the first group ether-nitrous oxide-oxygen endotracheal narcosis was employed, in the second-fluothane-nitrous oxide-oxygen endotracheal narcosis and in the third-neuroleptanalgesia.
