RESUMO

Kissing nevus is a congenital melanocytic neoplasm arising in those parts of the body that split at some point during embryological development (i.e., eyelid; penis), resulting in two adjacent melanocytic nevi. To date, 23 cases of kissing nevus of the penis have been described, and dermatoscopic and histological findings are available in 4/23 cases. We report a dermatoscopic, histological and confocal microscopic analysis in a new case of the kissing nevus of the penis in a 57 years old man. Dermatoscopic analysis showed large globules in the central area and a peripheral pigment network; the histological examination confirmed the presence of an intradermal melanocytic nevus with minimal junctional component and congenital features. Moreover, we reported, for the first time, confocal microscopy findings in the kissing nevus of the penis, revealing the presence of dendritic cells in correspondence with the epidermis and suggesting a state of cellular activity. Considering the clinicopathological features of the lesion, a conservative approach was adopted, and a clinical follow-up was planned after six months.

RESUMO

Fibrous histiocytoma is a benign soft tissue tumour arising as a fibrous mass everywhere in the human body. The involvement of the oral cavity is rare. We report two cases of benign fibrous histiocytoma that localized in the oral cavity. The clinical and histological features of the lesion are reported. Finally, a literature revision of this pathology at the level of the oral cavity is reported.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Combined malignant naevi are characterised pathologically by the association of a melanoma with one or more different types of benign melanocytic naevi in a single lesion. CASE PRESENTATION: We show here a case of malignant combined naevus made up of a blue naevus and a melanoma, presenting as a slowly progressing and asymptomatic pigmented lesion on the trunk of a 35-year-old man. Dermoscopic examination was not conclusive for a malignant lesion, showing only an atypical brown pigment network. The definitive diagnosis was reached only at the hystopathological examination. CONCLUSION: This finding suggests that combined naevi should be always excised and histologically examined to achieve a correct diagnosis and avoid risk of misclassification.

RESUMO

Eccrine spiradenoma is an uncommon but well recognized benign adnexal tumour of the eccrine sweat glands. It can appear at any age, but the highest rate of incidence is observed among young adults, without any sex predilection. The commonest clinical presentation is a solitary blue-red dermal or subcutaneous cystic nodule, ranging from 0.3 to 5 cm in diameter. Malignant transformation is a rare phenomenon, presenting as a rapidly enlarging nodule within a long-standing lesion. We report a case of eccrine spiradenoma in a thirty-six-year-old man who presented with a recurrent soft-tissue neoplasm of the forehead, with cytological atypia. The differential diagnosis of this tumour, as well as its possible malignant transformation, is discussed.
