RESUMO

The work concerns the assessment of radiation risks for non-cancer diseases of circulatory system among the Chernobyl liquidators. The medical and dosimetric data from Russian National Medical and Dosimetric Registry were used. The cohort data from 1986 to 2000 years of 61017 liquidators are discussed. Radiation risks are established for the cerebrovascular diseases and for the essential hypertension the significant. ERR =0.45/Gy, with 95% CI = (0.11; 0.80) for the cerebrovascular diseases and ERR = 0.36/Gy, with 95% CI = (0.005; 0.71) for the essential hypertension. It approves the results which were established by authors for the similar cohort in 1986-1996. The cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) are considered in greater details. The significant heterogeneity of the radiation risks by working time in Chernobyl zone is shown for the first time. ERR = 0.89/Gy for the working time less then 6 weeks, and ERR = 0.39/Gy in average for all periods of working in the zone. Among the liquidators entered Chernobyl zone during the first year after the accident (29003 liquidators), the CVD's risk group consists of persons accumulated more then 150 mGy from external sources in less, then 6 weeks (RR = 1.18 with 95% CI = (1.00; 1.40)). The significant CVD's risk from averaged dose rate was defined for external doses greater then 150 mGy (ERR for 100 mGy/day = 2.17, with 95% CI = (0.64; 3.69)).

RESUMO

The article represents data on distribution of liquidators in Russian State Medical Dosimetry Register according to account categories, residing territories (regions of Russia), age, sex, dose groups, coverage by medical examinations and health groups. During 1991-1996 the liquidators demonstrated higher occurrence of endocrine, neurologic and sensory, circulatory, digestive and malignant diseases.

RESUMO

The influence of P1,P3-bis(5'-adenosyl)triphosphate (Ap3A), P1,P4-bis(5'-adenosyl)tetraphosphate (Ap4A) and its analogues, containing a residue of methylenediphosphonic acid in various positions of the oligophosphate chain, on the reactions catalysed by phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase from E. coli MRE-600 has been studied. The compounds do not affect significantly the rate of ATP-[32P]PPi-exchange nor maintain this reaction in the absence of ATP. The diadenosineoligophosphates are shown to be noncompetitive inhibitors of ATP in the tRNA aminoacylation by phenylalanine (for Ap4A Ki = 1,45.10(-3) M). The phosphonate analogues of Ap4A inhibit the synthesis of Ap3A depending on their structure. The conclusion is thus drawn that the E. coli MRE-600 phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase does not interact property with Ap4A and its phosphonate analogues.

RESUMO

The authors have provided a comparative analysis of various modifications of radionuclide ventriculography and assessment of their potentialities for clinical use. A total of 120 patients with chronic nonspecific lung diseases, coronary heart disease and rheumatic heart disease were examined. It was established that the most accurate information to assess myocardial contractility was obtained by a method of the determination of the ejection fraction by the "activity-time" curve with a fixed zone of interest, and the universal patient's position was the left front oblique projection. The right ventricular ejection fraction was determined in parallel with the study of the left ventricular ejection fraction characterizing myocardial contractility in cardiovascular pathology. The study of the former extended significantly the potentialities of radionuclide ventriculography, allowed the assessment of the hemodynamic state of the lesser circulation and compensatory potentialities of the right ventricle of the heart in cardiopulmonary pathology.

RESUMO

Thirty-five patients with grave and medium-grave thyrotoxicosis were subjected to a quantitative analysis of the initial and end part of the ventricular complex of the ECG before and after specific drug therapy. The data obtained were compared with the radionuclide data on the cardiovascular system, the blood content of T3 and T4 and amount of potassium in the body. At the height of the disease the patients manifested a decrease in the output fraction of the left ventricle, stroke volume, minute volume, coefficient of circulation effectiveness, the deceleration of the lung blood flow and a rise of the total peripheral resistance to the blood flow as compared to normal. The treatment brought about a significant reduction of the area of the QRS complex and ST-T segment, as compared to the findings obtained during the acute period, mainly in the II, III, AVR, AVF and V5 leads of the ECG. A direct correlation was established between the blood content of T3 and the area of the ST-T segment in the II, III, AVR and AVF leads. It has been found that intracellular concentration of potassium may have an effect on the ECG changes revealed in the patients.
