RESUMO

Air pollution has become a global issue due to rapid urbanization and industrialization. Bad air quality is Europe's most significant environmental health risk, causing serious health problems. External air pollution is not the only issue; internal air pollution is just as severe and can also lead to adverse health outcomes. IoT is a practical approach for monitoring and publishing real-time air quality information. Numerous IoT-based air quality monitoring systems have been proposed using micro-sensors for data collection. These systems are designed for outdoor air quality monitoring. They use sensors to measure air quality parameters such as CO2, CO, PM10, NO2, temperature, and humidity. The data are acquired with a set of sensors placed on an electric car. They are then sent to the server. Users can subscribe to the list and receive information about local pollution. This system allows real-time localized air quality monitoring and sending data to customers. The work additionally presents a secure data transmission protocol ensuring system security. This protocol provides system-wide attack resiliency and interception, which is what existing solutions do not offer.

RESUMO

Background segmentation is a process in which an algorithm removes the static background from an image. This allows only a changing section of the image. This process is important for motion detection or object tracking. In this article, an approach is proposed to compare several existing algorithms for background segmentation under severe weather conditions. Three weather conditions were tested: falling snow, rain and a sunny windy day. The test algorithms were executed on a test video containing frames collected by a dedicated Raspberry Pi camera. The frames used in the tests included cars, bicycles, motorcycles, people, and trees. Preliminary results from these tests show interesting differences in detail detection and detection noise.

RESUMO

The constant development of modern technologies allows the creation of new and, above all, mobile devices supporting people with disabilities. All work carried out to improve the lives of people with disabilities is an important element of the field of science. The work presents matters related to the anatomy and physiology of hearing, imaginative abilities of blind people and devices supporting these people. The authors elaborated a prototype of an electronic device that supports the orientation of blind people in the environment by means of sound signals. Sounds are denoted to present to a blind person a simplified map of the depth of space in front of the device user. An innovative element of the work is the use of Kinect sensor, scanning the space in front of the user, as well as a set of developed algorithms for learning and generating acoustic space, taking into account the inclination of the head. The experiments carried out indicate the correct interpretation of the modeled audible signals, and the tests carried out on persons with impaired vision organs demonstrate high efficiency of the developed concept.
