RESUMO

The modern development of the AF originates the necessity to reduce the period of young pilots training in familiarizing with the new aircraft of the 4th generation. The improvement of medical support of personnel reinforcement is of great importance for this matter. The authors study these questions using new original positions and substantiating the importance and efficiency of dynamic prognostical mathematical models for evaluation of young pilots' formation qualities. These models are based on the 4-grade adaptational process. One of the advantages of these models is a multiplicity of factors which are used during the process of evaluation, including an attempt to take into account individual and psychological features of pilots, their functional and professional capabilities.

RESUMO

Soviet aviation has developed an efficient system of medical support based on physiological knowledge and aimed at the solution of various problems associated with pilot selection and training, his professional activity, arrangement of his working place, etc. It is understood that the following lines of research hold great promise in protecting the human body against adverse flight effects: methods of protection against high altitude effects which also help maintain high operational efficiency; conditioning of transport, regulation and energy mechanisms of oxygen supply; methods of predicting man's tolerance to motion sickness; study of mechanisms of photoreception of blinding brightnesses; development of photoprotectors, etc. With respect to professional selection, it is important to use EEG data for prognostic purposes, to investigate lateral functions of paired organs, and to explore their relationship with body tolerance to flight factors and efficiency of training. The results of physiological investigations of the functional state of the pilot form the basis to standardize his workload, to develop rational work-rest cycles, and to prevent performance deterioration. Physiological recommendations can be used to formulate requirements for the configuration of the pilot working place.

RESUMO

The stability of the functional asymmetry of brain hemispheres (with respect to the right ear coefficient - REC) of pilots was investigated during their exposure to extreme flight factors. It was found that the functional asymmetry of brain hemispheres was sufficiently stable in the subjects whose initial REC was not less than 10%. After exposure the decline of the REC in some subjects was accompanied by deterioration of their health status and quality of their operational work.

RESUMO

Psychophysiological parameters of 89 pilots were examined when they performed flight tasks on a trainer under normal and complicated conditions. The experiments helped to reveal a group of test subjects (11.2%) who had low capabilities and made serious errors. The results obtained suggest that psychophysiological examinations during simulated professional activity can be recommended as a method to be used for measuring adaptive and compensatory capabilities of pilots undergoing medical expertise.
