[The current potentials of the prenatal diagnosis of skeletal pathology]. / Sovremennye vozmozhnosti prenatal'noi diagnostiki patologii skeleta.

In the ultrasonic examination of 53,481 pregnant women over the period of 1990 to 1997, 86 fetuses (5.24%) were diagnosed as having skeletal dysplasias. Considered in the series were the specific weight and prenatal ultrasonic criteria for different forms of this pathology. Owing to great potentialities of echography we can identify skeletal dysplasias in the second trimester of pregnancy, and depending on the form, judge about further course of pregnancy.
