[Status of studying the reproductive function of women--passenger train engineers]. / O sostoianii izucheniia reproduktivnoi funktsii zhenshchin-- provodnits passazhirskikh vagonov.

Analysis of medico-demographic indices of 3450 women--conductors of passenger long-distance trains give evidence of the presence of changes in the status of the reproductive function. Birth indices are low, in spite of favourable marriage levels. Childlessness levels in women working on trains are 5-6 times higher compared to the average values in the country. Unfavourable tendencies are observed in women of any age, however, they are more profoundly marked in older women who have been handling maximal contact with harmful occupational factors during many years of work. Significant relationships have not been observed between birth level and such parameters as nationality, place of living, educational level etc.

[Mutagenic and gonadotoxic effects of a primer NTs-0192]. / Mutagennoe i gonadotoksicheskoe deistvie gruntovochnogo sostava NTs-0192]

Mutagenic and gonadotoxic effects of the primer H -0192 were studied. It was shown, that acute exposure of male rats to substances, migrating from the paint, caused gonadotoxic effect in mature sex cells of animals. Evidence of mutagenic effect was observed in the truncal cells alongside with a gonadotoxic effect. Chronic exposure to a mixture of chemicals, migrating from the primer cover, caused changes characteristic of mutagenic and gonadotoxic effects in sex cells at different stages of spermatogenesis, no disturbances were found in the truncal cells. Somatic cells (bone marrow cells) under the conditions of both types of exposure did not suffer damage.

[Toxicologic-hygienic evaluation of glyptal enamel GF-230]. / Toksikologo-gigienicheskaia otsenka gliftalevoi émali GF-230.

It has been shown that the new glyptal enamel phi -230 under the condition of 5-day and 3-month inhalation primers produce a weakly manifest general toxic effect in rats by migrating from it mixture of chemicals. Cytogenetic and gonadotoxic effects have not been observed. Acute (5-day) exposure to gases evolving from the enamel preconditioned mutagenic effect in mature spermatozoa, while the trunk cells did not get damaged. No changes were detected in the genetic apparatus of sex cells of the animals at the end of the chronic exposure. The results obtained can be used to solve the problem of the conditions for the use of the enamel in the national economy.

[Effects of polymer materials in a furniture factory on the development of mycoses in workers]. / Vliianie polimernykh materialov mebel'nogo proizvodstva na razvitie mikozov u rabochikh.

Workers engaged in furniture making suffer from foot mycosis 2.5 times more often than those having no contact with polymers; patients with occupational skin diseases suffer from this disease 2.4 times more often than other workers. The analysis of skin samples and specific allergic diagnosis show that sensitization to fungi and occupational allergens is significantly higher among those contacting with polymers used in furniture making. Mycotic infection greatly raises sensitivity to occupational allergens. Exposure to polymers significantly increases sensitizing effect of foot mycosis pathogens on workers' organisms. This factor can be regarded as a predisposition to the development of mycotic infection.

[Allergenic characteristics of chemical compounds migrating from polymeric building materials]. / K allergennoi kharakteristike khimicheskikh soedinenií, migriruiushchikh iz polimernykh stroitel'nykh materialov

The authors worked out the technique of determining the allergenic activity of the volatiles migrating into the air medium from polymer building materials (PBM). The methods of allergodiagnosis in vitro (the passive hemagglutination test, specific leukocytic agglomeration test, intensification of leukocyte pyroninophilia test) were used to detect sensitization in experiments on guinea pigs. It appeared that PBM could cause atopic allergie reaction under certain dwelling conditions.
