RESUMO

The effects of activated neutrophilic secretory products on marrow erythroblastic islet erythropoiesis and peripheral blood parameters were studied after experimental blood loss. The supernatant of activated neutrophils was demonstrated to potentiate erythrodieresis in early post-loss period. At the same time the supernatant had a high stimulant effect on erythroblastic islet erythropoiesis. The erythroblastic islets showed increases in new formation and reconstitution, acceleration of amplification wave, which results in peripheral blood reticulocytosis. Thus, neutrophilic secretory products stimulates the synthesis and secretion of central macrophage products, which promotes accelerated maturation of erythroblasts in the erythroblastic islet crown.

RESUMO

The electrophoretic mobility (EM) and acid stability of erythrocytes were investigated during incubation in a middle-molecule peptide-containing medium and in burns of different severity. It was shown, that EM of erythrocytes markedly increased after thermal injury. Major part of MMP fractions produced the same effect during in vitro incubation. MMP also changed the erythrocyte stability to acid haemolytic.

RESUMO

The effect of prolonged experimental heat exposure on morpho-functional characteristics; of animal erythrocytes involved formation of a new erythrocyte population with increased cell diameter, volume and hemoglobin content, enhanced electrophoretic velocity and resistance against various hemolytic factors.

RESUMO

The isometric contractile activity of longitudinal myometrial strips of nonpregnant rats (oestrus phase) initiated by acetylcholine, oxitocine and serotonine gradually diminished during continuous and prolonged perfusion with the biologically active substances. The decrease in the contractile activity was due to a loss of sensitivity of the myometrium cells in respect to the substances, which may be regarded as desensitization. The myometrium contractile activity was more stable during intermittent perfusion. The findings suggest that desensitization is a general biological phenomenon only developing in case of interaction of active substances with specific receptors.

RESUMO

Contractile effects of oxytocin, prostaglandin F2 alpha, acetylcholine, KCl, RbCl, and BaCl2 in the presence of Mn2+ and La3+ ions and other cations were studied in the rat myometrium at 37 degrees C. The effects depended mainly on the kind of the blocking agents (oxytocin in the presence of Mn2+ significantly increased muscle tone whereas in the presence of La3+, Cd2+, Mg2+ the effect was absent). The tone increase in the presence of Ca permeability blocking agents seems to be due to the effect of the agents on the intracellular sources of Ca ions.

RESUMO

Contractile effects of adrenaline, acethylcholine and hyperpotassium solution on the isolated myometrium strips (non-pregnent rats, and women; pregnant rabbits, cats, and women) are studied. The amplitudes of these contractile effects were seen decreasing if the strips were previously immersed in the Ringer-Lokk solution at 4 degrees C 5--9 days prior to observation.
