RESUMO

In this study, the average values of vertical velocity of particles emitted from an aluminum smelter in the surface layer of the atmosphere were estimated using a semi-empirical method. The method is based on regression analysis of the horizontal profile of pollutants measured along the selected direction using moss bioindicators. The selection of epiphytic mosses Sanionia uncinata was carried out in 2013 in the zone of influence of a metallurgical industry enterprise in the city of Kandalaksha, Murmansk region. The concentrations of As, Si, Ni, Zn, Ti, Cd, Na, Pb, Co, K, Ba, Ca, Mg, Mn, Sr, Fe, Al, V, Cr, Cu were determined using atomic emission spectrometry. The conducted assessments showed that the average particle velocity toward the Earth's surface, when considering large spatial and temporal scales, is tens of times higher than gravitational settling velocities.

RESUMO

Generalized parodontitis and caries complications lead to tooth loss in individuals of different age groups. As a result of this often there is a violation of the integrity of the dentition, which leads to functional disorders of the muscular apparatus, temporomandibular joint and cosmetic defects. The effective method of restoration of the integrity of the dentition is dental implantation. With this in mind, the issue of dental implantation is of particular importance and requires further development including different age groups. Aim of the study is to improve the results of dental implantation and to avoid its complications based on identification of the causes of dental implantation complications and development of preventative measures in people of different age groups. 65 patients aged 35-60 years with secondary adentia were under observation. The main study group included 45 patients aged 35-60 years with secondary adentia caused by periodontal disease. The control group included 20 patients of the same age with secondary adentia due to caries complications. All patients of the main and control groups were subjected to a comprehensive examination of the condition of the periodontal and peri-implant area prior to the implantation in the shortest time after surgery. Microbiological study was conducted in 65 patients to study the dynamics of colonization of oral microflora. Complications after implantation were identified in 24 (53.33%) patients in the main group. The most frequent complications were: disruption of wound healing in 7 (15,56%) patients, pus in postoperative wound in 8 (17.78%), expressed pain and altered sensitivity after implantation in 4 patients (8.89%) patients, perforation of the mandible in 1 (2.22%) patient, divergence of the wound edges without exposure of the implant in 4 (8.89%) patients. A large number (53.33%) of postoperative complications in patients of the main group with secondary adentia was due to generalized periodontitis. In patients of the main group at the early stage of dental implantation were revealed qualitative and quantitative changes in the microflora of the implanted furrow with increasing aggressiveness were revealed.

RESUMO

We have performed experimental and theoretical investigation of the formation and behavior of Coulomb clusters of charged diamagnetic particles in a cusp magnetic trap under microgravity conditions aboard the International Space Station. Graphite particles of 100-400 µm in size were used in experiments due to the highest specific magnetic susceptibility. We have observed the formation of clusters in the shape of an oblate ellipsoid of revolution and their oscillations after dynamical action by changing the magnetic field. Observing the excitation and damping of oscillations we have made some estimations. Molecular dynamics simulations of the observed processes have been made. Their results are in reasonable agreement with experiments. Some differences are evidently due to some unaccounted-for reasons.

RESUMO

Startling magnetic effects on the spontaneous polarization echo in some silicate glasses at low and ultralow temperatures have been reported in the last decade or so. Though some progress in search of an explanation has been made by considering the nuclear quadrupole dephasing of tunneling particles, here we show that the effect of a magnetic field can be understood quantitatively by means of a special tunnel mechanism associated with paramagnetic impurities. For the Fe(3+)-, Cr(3+)-, and Nd(3+)-contaminated glasses we provide reasonable fits to the published data as a function of applied magnetic field and temperature.

RESUMO

We developed models of in vitro organotypic culturing of newt liver tissue with and without adhesion to the substrate. The effects of bioregulators isolated from mammalian liver, blood serum, and bile were studied on the developed models and their specificity was demonstrated. The state of the liver was evaluated by the area of clusters of pigmented cells and by the number of mitoses in the connective tissue cells of the cortical layer. These bioregulators exhibited their biological effects only under conditions of roller organotypic culturing of newt liver tissue.

RESUMO

Lipolytic and catalase activity of bacteria-destructors of protective coatings at different growth models: biofilm and plankton have been studied. It was shown that the synthesis of exoenzymes in the biofilm is different. Activity of extracellular lipase and catalase in the biofilm is 1.1-1.5 and 1.2-2.1 times higher, respectively, than in plankton. The experiment duration being increased to 14 days, the lipolytic activity considerably decreases. Activity of studied enzymes, produced by bacteria-destructors, can be used for estimating bioresistance of isolating coatings as the index of their biodegradation in technogenic media.

RESUMO

A new bioregulator operating in ultralow doses corresponding to 10(-17) mg/ml has been isolated from tissue of pigmented epithelium of bovine eyes. It has been established that the functional basis of this bioregulator is a complex of a low molecular weight regulatory peptide (4372 Da) and a modulator consisting of a mixture of proteins with molecular weights of 14.980-66.283 kDa. It has been shown that the regulatory peptide is responsible for membranotropic activity of the bioregulator, and the modulator proteins are responsible for biological action in ultralow doses. The data demonstrate an interrelation between nanocondition of the bioregulator and its ability to show activity in ultralow doses.

RESUMO

New, previously not studied bioregulators active in the ultra low doses corresponding of 10(-8) - 10(-17) mg/ml have been isolated from vitreoretinal tissue of eye. It has been shown that these bioregulators comprise some regulatory peptides-modulators represented by proteins with molecular weights 15-70 KDa one of which is bovine serum albumin. Correlation between the nanosize of bioregulators and their ability to show activity in ultra low doses is established.

RESUMO

Significant number of scientific publications devoted to inhibition of viral replication by antisense RNA (asRNA) genes shows that this approach is useful for gene therapy of viral infections. To investigate the possibility of suppression of HTLV-1 virus reproduction by asRNA we constructed recombinant plasmids containing asRNA genes against U3 long terminal repeats region and X gene under the control of promoter of myeloproliferative sarcoma virus (MPSV) or without such promoter. Using stable calcium-phosphate transfection method with subsequent selection in the presence of G-418, RaHOS line-based cell clones carrying both asRNA genes and sequences able to bind HTLV-1 transactivator proteins (i.e. "traps" of viral transactivators, TVT) were obtained. Data from dot-hybridization analysis of viral RNA extracted from RaHOS cell clones showed that TVT sequences are able to suppress the viral RNA synthesis on 90% and asRNA against X gene synthesis--on 50%.

RESUMO

This paper studies the contribution of [FeO4]0 impurity substitution centres to subkelvin thermodynamic properties of quartz glasses. In the scenario considered an Fe3+ ion substitutes for a Si4+ ion in the metallic sublattice of quartz, and one of the neighbouring oxygen ions captures a hole, which compensates the local charge defect. The Fe3+ cation and the O- anion, on which the hole is localized, form a bound small polaron. In this configuration the Fe3+ cation is subject to a crystal field with an approximate C3 symmetry axis along the Fe3+-O- direction. This axis plays a quantization role for the Fe3+ electronic spin. The hole is assumed to be tunnelling between two neighbouring oxygen ions, switching the quantization axis between two directions and therefore entangling the spin states. Due to this coupling between spin and spatial degrees of freedom an [FeO4]0 centre may be considered as a paramagnetic tunnelling system (PTS). An explicit form derived for a single-PTS low-energy spectrum, together with the model parameter distribution function introduced, allows for a complete thermodynamic description of the [FeO4]0-based PTS ensemble. In particular, a contribution to the ac dielectric constant, derived as a function of magnetic field and temperature, allows a semiquantitative fit to recent experimental data for the iron-contaminated multicomponent glass BaO-Al2O3-SiO2. Taking into account a spin interaction between Fe3+ and O- ions also allows us to account for the anomalous magnetothermal behaviour of the low-temperature specific heat, recently reported for the glasses BaO-Al2O3-SiO2 and Duran and earlier for Pyrex.

RESUMO

The paper deals with the development of the PCR-test system that allows the greatest possible number of human adenovirus (AdV) serotypes in the clinical samples to be tested by polymerase chain reaction. Primers have been selected on the basis of analysis of 3'-end sequences of hexon genes of 48 AdV serotypes. Five laboratory human AdV strains of different serotypes and some other DNA viruses were used to show the high sensitivity and specificity of AdV DNA detection. The proposed test system was not inferior to the Russian available analogues in sensitivity and specificity.

RESUMO

The state of the local immunity system of the oral cavity was studied by the level of saliva immunoglobulins in patients with different processes on their mucous membranes: herpetic infection, respiratory allergosis and malignant tumors of the mouth cavity and the laryngopharynx. The suppression of the production of sIgA, was accompanied by the enhanced production of antibodies to the most widespread herpesviruses (herpes simplex virus, cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus). The maximum levels of serum IgG to herpesviruses were determined in patients with malignant tumors. The role of herpesviruses in the pathogenesis of immunodeficient states is discussed.

RESUMO

Myocardial perfusion scintigraphy was made at rest and during bicycle ergometer exercise to diagnose coronary heart disease (CHD), to define the site and extent of left ventricular aneurysms, and to determine the compensatory potentialities of coronary circulation, to evaluate the efficiency of drug therapy. This was performed on a two-detector emission tomograph by using 99mTc. The data obtained were processed by two protocols: 1) tomographic heart specimens and 2) large protruding eye. In patients with a questionable diagnosis, the method evidenced stenotic coronary arteries in 60% of cases and exclude coronary abnormality. In CHD patients, exercise testing could reveal the extent of resting perfusion defects and new defects, i.e. define the reserve potentialities of coronary circulation, which is of great prognostic value. The site and extent of lesions were specified in extensive myocardial cicatricial lesions and left ventricular aneurysms.
