RESUMO

There is considered the possibility of the use of risk indices with regard to their use in certification and validation of conformity assessment and food conformance, including those recommended for children. There were investigated samples of oatmeals, potted meats, liver pate, fruit-vegetable puree. The calculation of risk values was based on original data of quantitative analysis that was performed with the use of thermogravimetric, photometric, titrimetric, and potentiometric methods, as well as methods of gas-liquid chromatography and atomic absorption spectrophotometry. On the base of data of the chemical analysis of the ingredients of a set of food products, including assigned for baby nutrition, all the tested samples were shown to meet the requirements for the controlled regulatory standards on control indices of quality. The calculation of average daily doses of the intake of metal compounds (Cu, Zn, Fe, Na, Ca, Mg) consumed by adult and child's organisms through tested food showed that such doses are allowable since they do not exceed maximum daily dose and average daily requirements. However, some samples were referred to the category of high risk food, because the used method of individual's lifetime risk calculation takes into consideration all possible negative effects (carcinogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic, embryogenic, etc) of the impact of pollutants on the human body. It is shown that in addition to the sanitary and hygienic criteria of food quality, the risks of such food consumption should be taken into consideration by the Technical Regulations and other normative documentations.

RESUMO

Differences in the temperature behaviour of orientational ordering of structurally equivalent side-chain liquid single crystal elastomers (LSCEs) with (2)H-labelled crosslinker and mesogen have been studied by deuteron quadrupole-perturbed NMR. The impact of nematic director reorientations on the deuteron NMR spectral shapes was analyzed in terms of a discrete reorientational exchange model. This provided for the determination of the degree of nematic director alignment and for the quantification of the influence of the reorientational exchange on the (2)H NMR spectra in terms of two parameters, the nematic director orientational dispersion parameter σθ and the motional effectiveness parameter α. A comparative analysis of model simulations and experimental spectra reveals that mesogenic molecules in LSCEs exhibit faster reorientational dynamics as compared to crosslinker molecules and that mesogens and crosslinkers exhibit a similar and rather substantial static director orientational disorder.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: In the presence of bone defects during surgery is not always performed osteoptastic material replenishment defect that leads to a lengthening of the timing healing, bone regeneration, and treatment outcome. Application of osteoplastic materials allows for faster treatment outcomes, accelerate the regeneration of bone tissue in the area of the defect. AIM: To examine the effectiveness of materials based on non-demineralized bone collagen and artificial hydroxylapatite when filling bone defects in outpatient surgical practice dentistry. PATIENTS AND METHODS: 22 patients with bone defects of various localization using osteoplastic materials were examined and treated. In our study, two groups were allocated on the etiology of bone loss: radicular cysts and chronic generalized periodontitis. Basic methods of diagnosis and monitoring of treatment in the work presented with the cone-beam computed tomography and digital orthopantomography. RESULTS: Application of the testing osteoplastic materials resulted in faster recovery times with a combination of bone defects using resorbable membranes or gel enriched fibrin. In all 22 patients both tested materials were well tolerated, allergic reactions were not identified. However, five patients with a history of endocrinological history, during which treatment material is applied on the basis non-demineralized bone collagen, the degree of osseointegration has been reduced by 25% compared to the somatic healthy patients. In 3 patients with a history of hematological history, during which the treatment was applied material on the basis of artificial hydroxyapatite, the regeneration of the bone defect was reduced by 20%, which suggests the influence of somatic condition of the patient on the regeneration of bone tissue. Currently, all patients are on dynamic monitoring, recurrence has been detected. CONCLUSION: Materials based on non-demineralized bone collagen and hydroxyapatite artificial equally successful during the replacement of the bone defect during surgery. However, the degree of regeneration may be different if the patient has a history of aggeravated that should be considered when planning treatment.

RESUMO

Intrauterine effect of alcohol on the development of cytomorphological structure of CNS in rats was studied by heterogeneous enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The level of transforming growth factor-ß1 (TGF-ß1) in animals during pregnancy was analyzed. Pronounced damaging effect of alcohol on brain cell in the progeny of alcoholized animals was demonstrated: loosening of nerve cells and degenerative changes in the form of pyknosis and chromatolysis in the cortex, hypothalamus, and cerebellum; subtotal decrease (sometimes complete absence) of neuroendocrine granules. The level of TGF-ß1 was significantly increased in alcoholized pregnant females, which can attest to defects of the receptor apparatus of the target cells in both females and the progeny. Thus, the observed peculiarities of TGF-ß1 expression are comparable to morphological changes in the brain and can be extrapolated to similar processes in humans (fetal alcohol syndrome).

RESUMO

The presence of HLA antigens B8 and DR3 in an individual is associated with his predisposition to developing Basedow's disease. A comparative study of a clinical course and immunological characterization of this disease in 208 patients, divided with relation to the presence or absence of the above antigens, showed that the disease developed in patients with HLA B8 and DR3 at a younger age and was accompanied twice as more frequently by ophthalmopathy. Thyrotoxicosis relapsed among these patients in conservative therapy much more frequently. A relapse after surgical intervention in the study group was noted thrice as more frequently compared to the control group. Focal infiltration of thyroid tissue with lymphoid cells was determined twice as less frequently in patients with HLA B8 and DR3. Any statistically significant difference was unnoticed in the severity of thyrotoxicosis and the frequency of detection of antibodies to thyroglobulin.

RESUMO

By means of a modified Howell semisolid medium it has been established that the relative content of committed stem cells of the myeloid clone in liver and spleen tissues of human fetus, aged between 18 and 24 weeks, is higher by five times than that in the bone marrow of adults. The methods worked out for making preparations of agar cultures and for their morphocytochemical staining may be used for the identification of grown cell elements; they are simple and reproducible.

RESUMO

The paper presents the results of studying individual variability of the shape, size and disposition of the subthalamic nucleus. Under investigation were 100 preparations. The structure was studied in serial frontal sections of the diencephalon and midbrain taken 1 mm apart. A considerable variability of the disposition of the subthalamic nucleus was revealed relative to intracerebral reference--points used in stereotaxic operations. The limits are outlined within which stereotaxical lesions should be avoided.
