Unilateral nondisseminated actinomycosis of the hydrocele wall: a case report of actinomycosis in the urogenital tract.

Actinomycosis of the urogenital tract is rare and predominantly an infectious disease of horses, cattle, swine, and humans. This case report describes isolated actinomycosis of the hydrocele wall presenting as an inflamed right-sighted hydrocele.

A report is given on a case of ureterocutaneous fistula in consequences of a stenosis of the pelvic ureter, successfully treated by transcatheter embolization of the left kidney. The embolization was preferred to nephrectomy because of the poor clinical condition of the patient. Butyl-2-Cyanoacrylate has been found to be a suitable embolization material.

Successful renal revascularization of unilateral traumatic renal artery thrombosis.

We report 3 patients with traumatic renal artery thrombosis treated successfully with revascularization. The diagnosis was made preoperatively in 2 cases and intraoperatively in 1. Treatment consisted of reanastomosis with a saphenous vein patch on the side of the arteriotomy in case 1, an aortorenal artery saphenous vein bypass in case 2 and a bypass graft from the aorta to the distal renal artery in case 3. Two patients had functioning kidneys and normal blood pressure, and 1 patient dies 24 hours after reconstruction.

Adrenal scintillation scanning is a very useful method in the diagnosis of steroid producing diseases of the adrenal glands. The diagnosis of bilateral hyperplasia and primary adenoma of the adrenal cortex in Cushing's syndrome and Conn's syndrome is possible by this non-invasive procedure. Morphological questions (e.g. the localization of a phaeochromocytoma) cannot be answered. It is not a screening examination.

Echinococcal cyst of the adrenal gland.

A very rare case of echinococcal cyst of the adrenal gland is reported. Other organs were free of echinococcal cysts. Treatment consisted of surgical removal of the adrenal cyst through a subcostal incision.
