RESUMO

PURPOSE: The anterior segment in individuals with high myopia has different features compared to those without myopia. IOLMaster 700 and Oculus Pentacam AXL are two accurate optical biometers. Both devices measure the cornea differently and thus yield different results when measuring intraocular lens (IOL) power. The purpose of this study is to assess the agreement of the IOL power calculation between IOLMaster 700 and Oculus Pentacam AXL in patients with high myopia. METHODS: A prospective, analytical cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the agreement between the IOL power calculation with IOLMaster 700 and Oculus Pentacam AXL. In this study, 44 eyes were examined using Oculus Pentacam AXL and IOLMaster 700, and IOL power was calculated using the Barret Universal II formula and the AMO Sensar AR40E. The Bland-Altman plot was used to evaluate the agreement between the two devices. RESULTS: Based on the IOLMaster 700 examination, 44 eyes with high myopia had axial lengths ranging from 26.05 to 34.02 mm. The mean IOL power was 8.26 ± 4.755 and 8.58 ± 4.776 based on IOLMaster 700 and Oculus Pentacam AXL, respectively. The Bland-Altman plot revealed good agreement between the two devices, with a mean difference of -0.3182 in the IOL power calculation and a 95% LoA of 0.88099-0.24462 with a 95% confidence interval. CONCLUSION: Both devices showed good agreement in the IOL power calculation in patients with high myopia.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Rapid increase in information on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has led to an infodemic that exposes older adults to a greater risk of anxiety. AIMS: To develop an animated educational video for COVID-19 prevention and management and evaluate its feasibility and preliminary effectiveness in improving knowledge and anxiety levels among older adults. METHODS: A pilot test of feasibility and preliminary effectiveness was conducted in three phases: expert agreement, content validation, and video creation. An intervention group received an animated educational video, whereas a control group received an educational leaflet. A total of 126 respondents were recruited from 15 community health centers in Indonesia. RESULTS: Results showed that knowledge of intervention group respondents about COVID-19 misinformation improved, and anxiety levels significantly decreased after watching the video compared to the control group (p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The animated educational video on COVID-19 prevention and management based on Indonesian preferences successfully improved knowledge and reduced anxiety levels among older adults.

RESUMO

Objective: The study aimed to describe the effectiveness of essential oil plants for Aedes aegypti mosquito vector control. Methods: This systematic review selection process following with 2015 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) Guideline. The source of the articles from databases international journal were Scopus, Pubmed, Scinapse and Google Scholar. Result: Natural control management with essential oil is the way of alternative for larvicidal mosquito control especially A. aegypti. The essential oil for many plants can use for larvicidal against A. aegypti as Piper batle L., Tinospora rhumpii, Azadiractha indica, Persea americana, Piper aduncum, Leucas aspera, Eucaliptus camaldulensis, Ottonia anisum, Salvia Plebeian, Lantana camara, and Syzygium aromaticum with 100% mortality larvae A. aegypti at 48 h. Conclusions: The vector borne diseases must be used to integrate vector management control with essential oils plants. (AU)

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study was designed for internal quality improvement to evaluate whether South Cimahi Public Health Center is suitable to become Inpatient health center. METHOD: The qualitative descriptive study was chosen for this study. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD) and document studies. This research was analized by SWOT's method (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) and EFE (External Factor Evaluation) values. RESULTS: The result showed that South Cimahi Public Health Center having an IFE's value: 3.6; and EFE's value: 3.63. It means South Cimahi Public Health Center has high strength dan less weaknesses. As the result, the South Cimahi Public health center couid be recommended to become an inpatient health center. Based on these findings, it's recomended that the government of Cimahi to upgrade the facilities of South Cimahi Public Health Center to providea better medical support services in order to improve patient satisfaction

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Breast reconstruction can ease the psychological burden in breast cancer patients that have undergone mastectomy. The aim of our study is to collect the latest evidences to summarize whether pedicled TRAM (pTRAM) is non-inferior in terms of patient satisfaction and complications to free TRAM (fTRAM) so that it may be used in region with limited resources. METHODS: We performed a comprehensive search on studies that compared pTRAM and fTRAM flap from several databases. RESULTS: There are six studies included. Despite the diversity among the correspondents, all studies demonstrated no difference between the two groups regarding patient overall satisfaction. However, two studies found that pTRAM had lower abdominal well-being score, three found higher abdominal related morbidity, while fTRAM had a higher overall cost. Pooled mean difference was not significant on all BREAST-Q subscales, meaning that pTRAM and fTRAM has a similar outcome. CONCLUSION: Although pTRAM is non-inferior in terms of satisfaction to fTRAM, it is associated with a more frequent complication. It may be used in developing countries that lack facilities and limited by cost. However, pTRAM should be done by experienced surgeons to minimize the risk of complications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The mortality of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is quite high, which is largely due to cardiovascular complications caused by endothelial dysfunction. One of the important inflammatory mediators that contribute to RA joints arthritis of TNF-α, also proven to play a role in endothelial dysfunction and play a role in increasing intracellular lipolysis, thus increasing circulating FFA levels. OBJECTIVES: To determine the correlation between TNF-α levels with VCAM-1 levels, correlation of TNF-α levels with FFA levels, and correlation of FFA levels with VCAM-1 levels. METHODS: Cross sectional and retrospective design studies of adult RA patients treated at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), without metabolic disturbances, acute infection, cardiovascular disorders, or other autoimmune diseases. The cross-sectional data was collected from October to November 2017, while retrospective samples were collected since August 2016. TNF-α, VCAM-1, and FFA levels were assessed by serum blood test by ELISA method. Correlation analysis is done by Pearson analysis when the data distribution is normal and with Spearman analysis when the data distribution is not normal. RESULTS: A total of 35 subjects were enrolled in the study. Most (97.1%) were women with an average age of 45.29 years, median disease duration of 48 months, and most had moderate disease activity (65.7%). No significant correlation was found between TNF-α levels and VCAM-1 levels (p = 0.677; r = +0.073). as well betwen TNF-α levels and FFA levels (p = 0.227; r = -0.21). The correlation between FFA and VCAM-1 levels showed significant correlation with negative correlation and weak correlation (p = 0.036; r = -0.355). CONCLUSIONS: (1) There was no correlation between TNF-α levels and VCAM-1 levels in RA patients; (2) There was no correlation between TNF-α levels and FFA levels in RA patients; (3) There was a negative correlation between FFA levels and VCAM-1 levels in RA patients.
