RESUMO

The efficiency of rispolept was examined in open non-comparative study which included 32 patients 6.5-16 years of age with schizophrenic spectrum disorders. Efficiency of the drug was estimated by clinical psychopathologic method together with the evaluation according to the PANSS. 5 patients were additionally estimated according to the Children's Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS) for the obsessive-compulsive disorders (a children version). The drug was used during 6 weeks in therapeutic doses from 4 to 8 mg/day. Reduction of the symptoms was 42% according to the PANNS for the positive items and 39% for the negative ones. There was also a significant decrease of manifestations of the obsessive-compulsive symptomatology according to CY-BOCS and of the depressive symptomatology according to the PANSS. Side effects comprised by vasotonic reactions (2 cases), oculomotor (2 cases) and torsion (one case) dyskinesias, which quickly disappeared after the correctors' administration. Extrapyramidal disorders were observed only after the increase of the dose up to 6-8 mg/day (3 cases). Results of the study have shown a high therapeutic efficiency of rispolept for childhood schizophrenia.

RESUMO

Combined clinical, psychologic and neurophysiological investigation was conducted in children with slow-progredient schizophrenia: with dominant affective disorders and hypomaniac states (Group I, 14 patients), and with predominant neurosis-like and psychopathy-like pathology (Group II, 12 patients). The patients distinctly differed in not only the clinical course of the disease but also according to neuropsychological investigations of memory, pathopsychological and EEG studies. These data are reliably intercorrelated. A high incidence of visual mnestic, marked perception disorders, and frequent focal signs of lesion of parieto-occipital cortex with cortical irritation were all characteristics of the Group I. In Group II a high inhibitability of the traces characteristic of the diencephalic-brainstem dysfunction, predominant impairment of objective-substantional thinking and the symptoms of brainstem irritation were marked.

RESUMO

A clinico-psychological study covered 28 children aged 4-13 years with protracted hypomanic states (2-8 years) in 3-10-year-long schizophrenia. The authors investigated peculiarities of the development of cognitive activity (thought and perception). Comparison was made between groups of schizophrenics and control groups (the syndrome of motor disinhibition, schizoid psychopathy). The findings of a clinico-psychological examination have helped to elucidate differences in the development of cognitive activity in the above groups of children which may be used for the differential diagnosis and prognosis of the disease course.

RESUMO

Forty schizophrenics (5 girls and 35 boys) aged 4-12 years with long-standing (2-8 years) hypomaniac states were examined. The clinical material was analyzed in comparison with a control group of constitutionally hyperthymic children. The results of the analysis have shown that chronic hypomanias may develop in childhood both in the framework of the ongoing schizophrenic process and in the form of a thymopathic hypomaniac remission.

RESUMO

The results of the study of 29 patients (25 boys and 4 girls) aged 4-11 years suffering from schizophrenia with manic disturbances are reviewed. These conditions were characterized by the absence of affect vitality, its homogeneity in the presence of emotional deficiency, dissociation of the manic syndrome, combination with autism, mental infantilism, superworship formations and neurosis-like disturbances. Four variants of chronic manias have been specified: benevolent, mischievous, hyperdynamic and hypomania with monotonous activity.
