RESUMO
En 1960 Lawrence Weed, microbiólogo norteamericano, publicó un artículo acerca del diagnóstico médico orientado por problemas como una metodología, en la cual, partiendo del problema referido por el paciente y no por la enfermedad, se logra llegar al diagnóstico.1 Un problema médico es todo aquel suceso en el que se presenta ruptura del equilibrio biopsicosocial del ser humano, que se manifiesta por signos, síntomas o hallazgos paraclínicos (imaginológicos o bioquímicos). En este mismo contexto existen los problemas activos que son el motivo de consulta, que requieren atención inmediata, y los pasivos, que son los que médicamente se conocen como antecedentes. 2
In 1960 Lawrence Weed, an American microbiologist, published an article about problem-oriented medical diagnosis as a methodology, in which, starting from the problem reported by the patient and not by the disease, it was possible to reach the diagnosis (1). A medical problem is that event in which there is a breakdown of the biopsychosocial balance of the human being, which is manifested by signs, symptoms or paraclinical findings (imaginological or biochemical). In this same context, there are the active problems that are the reason for consultation, which have immediate attention, and the passive ones, which are medically known as antecedents
