RESUMO
Teniendo en cuenta que aparecían reportadas con frecuencias diversas manifestaciones de violencia intrafamiliar en adolescentes del Consultorio No. 29 del Centro Comunitario de Salud Mental Área Centro de Sancti Spíritus, se determinó realizar una investigación con el objetivo fundamental de describir algunas características de la violencia intrafamiliar. Se ejecutó un estudio descriptivo transversal a través del cual se estudiaron 63 adolescentes de 10 a 18 años. Se calculó la frecuencia de: existencia o no de violencia, edad y sexo, los tipos de maltrato, la relación parenteral con la víctima, síntomas asociados al maltrato y si la familia tiene conciencia de su violencia. Los resultados mostraron la presencia de un alto porciento de manifestaciones de violencia intrafamiliar en el sexo femenino y en el grupo etáreo de 13-15 años, con un predominio de la modalidad psicológica sobre la física, resultando además las madres las que más violentas se manifiestan, la baja autoestima y la agresividad fueron los síntomas más asociados al maltrato y un bajo porciento de las familias tenían conciencia de las manifestaciones de violencia que los afectaba. Sustentados en estos resultados se propuso que se hicieran estudios de mayor amplitud para conocer la real magnitud de este problema en las diferentes áreas de salud y así diseñar estrategias de intervención en la comunidad con participación intersectorial, para eliminar o reducir estas manifestaciones que tanto afectan a los adolescentes y resto de la familia(AU)
Taking into account that various manifestations of intrafamilial violence were commonly reported in adolescents of Clinic No. 29 of the Community Center of Mental Health, Central Area of Sancti Spíritus, it was determined to make a research with the fundamental objective of describing some characteristics of intrafamilial violence. A cross-sectional descriptive study was made through which 63 adolescents from 10 to 18 years were studied. An estimation was made of the rate of: existence or non-existence of violence, age and sex, abuse types, next-of kin relationship with the victim, symptoms associated to the abuse, and family awareness of their violence. The results showed the presence of a high percent of manifestations of intrafamilial violence in the female sex and in the age group of 13-15 years, with a prevalence of the psychological modality over the physical one, with mothers also being the ones who use more violence. Low self-esteem and aggressiveness were the symptoms more commonly associated to abuse, and a low percent of the families was aware of the manifestations of violence that affected them. Based on these results, it was proposed that more comprehensive studies should be made to know the real dimension of this problem in the different areas of health , and in this way to design intervention strategies in the community with an intersector participation, to eliminate or reduce these manifestations that affect adolescents and the rest of the family alike(AU)
