Synthesis of 7 alpha- and 7 beta-carboxymethyl-9(11)-ene derivatives of estrone and estradiol.

As part of a search for derivatives designed to conjugate to amino groups, either of a protein carrier for antibody production or of an immobilized side-chain on a polymer for affinity chromatography, functionalized estrone and estradiol analogues were prepared. These modified steroids were obtained via the introduction of a carboxymethyl side-chain at the C-7 alpha and C-7 beta position on an adrenosterone derivative and were then aromatized on the A ring. These new compounds are unsaturated at the C-9 (11) position, which could be useful for a second modification.

[CT scan in Wilson's disease (author's transl)]. / Etude tomodensitométrique dans la maladie de Wilson.

We studied nine cases of Wilson's disease on CT scan. In all patients we found cerebral atrophy. In five patients without neurological symptoms we found no specific signs. In the four patients with neurological symptoms we found lenticular caudate nucleus or thalamic areas of hypodensity.

[Arteriovenous fistulae of the dura mater. Clinical and radiological study of 13 cases]. / Fistules artério-veineuses de la dure-mére, Etude clinique et radiologique de 13 observations

The authors studied 13 new cases of fistulae of the dura mater. With reference to these 13 cases, and to the literature, they propose a classification according to the type of drainage of the fistula: direct, into a dura mater lake, into a cortical vein. This clasification enables a better clinical and radiological approach to these anomalies.
