[The effect of hypophysectomy on the adaptation of three species of Mugilidae (marine teleosts) to fresh water]. / Influence de l'hypophysectomie sur l'adaptation en eau douce de trois espèces de Mugilidae (Téléostéens marins)

The study of the adaptation in fresh water of three species of Mugilidae, normal or hypophysectomised, provides new data on the osmoregulation of these fish. In Crenimugil labrosus and in Mugil auratus, hypophysis acts directly on osmoregulation. On the other hand, in Mugil ramada, this seems rather to be under peripheric control and hypophysis does not seem to play a leading part.
