RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Evening-type and insomnia symptoms are significantly related to each other and independently associated with depressive symptoms, yet few studies have examined the potential interaction between these two conditions. Therefore, we aimed to examine the associations of evening-type and insomnia symptoms with depressive symptoms among Chinese youths, with a specific focus on the joint effects of the two conditions on depressive symptoms. METHODS: Participants aged between 12 and 25 were invited to participate in an online survey from December 15, 2022, to May 26, 2023. Multivariate logistic regression models and additive interaction models were used to examine the independent and joint effects of chronotypes and insomnia symptoms on depressive symptoms, respectively. RESULTS: Of the 6145 eligible youths, the prevalence of evening-type and insomnia symptoms were 24.9 % and 29.6 %, respectively. Both evening-type (adjusted OR, [AdjOR]: 3.21, 95 % CI: 2.80-3.67) and insomnia symptoms (AdjOR: 10.53, 95 % CI: 9.14-12.12) were associated with an increased risk of depressive symptoms. In addition, the additive interaction models showed that there is an enhanced risk of depression related to interaction between evening-type and insomnia symptoms (relative excess risk due to interaction, [RERI]: 11.66, 95 % CI: 7.21-16.11). CONCLUSIONS: The present study provided additional evidence demonstrating the presence of interaction between evening-type and insomnia symptoms, which can lead to a higher risk of depressive symptoms. Our findings argue the need for addressing both sleep and circadian factors in the management of depressive symptoms in young people.

RESUMO

The global food crisis is becoming increasingly severe, and frequent grain bins fires can also lead to significant food losses at the same time. Accordingly, this paper proposes a model-compressed technique for promptly detecting small and thin smoke at the early stages of fire in grain bins. The proposed technique involves three key stages: (1) conducting smoke experiments in a back-up bin to acquire a dataset; (2) proposing a real-time detection model based on YOLO v5s with sparse training, channel pruning and model fine-tuning, and (3) the proposed model is subsequently deployed on different current edge devices. The experimental results indicate the proposed model can detect the smoke in grain bins effectively, with mAP and detection speed are 94.90% and 109.89 FPS respectively, and model size reduced by 5.11 MB. Furthermore, the proposed model is deployed on the edge device and achieved the detection speed of 49.26 FPS, thus allowing for real-time detection.

RESUMO

To overcome the high flammability and brittleness of epoxy resins without sacrificing their glass transition temperature (Tg) and mechanical properties, three epoxy-terminated hyperbranched flame retardants (EHBFRs) with a rigid central core and different branches, named EHBFR-HB, EHBFR-HCM, and EHBFR-HBM, were synthesized. After chemical structure characterization, the synthesized EHBFRs were introduced into the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and cured with 4, 4-diaminodiphenylmethane (DDM). The compatibility, thermal stability, mechanical properties, and flame retardancy of the resultant resins were evaluated. Results showed that all three EHBFRs could significantly improve the fire safety of cured resins, and 30 wt. % of EHBFRs (less than 1.0 wt. % phosphorus content) endowed cured DGEBA with a UL-94 V-0 rating. In addition, the increased rigidity of branches in EHBFRs could increase the flexural strength and modulus of cured resins, and the branches with appropriate rigidity were also beneficial for improving their room temperature impact strength and Tg.

RESUMO

Objective@#To explore the intrinsic mechanism of emotional intelligence and trait anger in the association between childhood psychological abuse and aggressive behavior among middle school students, and to provide a theoretical basis for intervention of aggressive behaviors.@*Methods@#By using the multi-stage stratified random sampling method, 2 458 middle school students in Guizhou Province were selected, and group tests were carried out using psychological abuse scale, attack behavior scale, emotional intelligence scale and characteristic anger scale.@*Results@#Agressive behavior, trait anger and emotional intelligence differed significantly by gender(t=2.19,5.12,-2.34,P<0.05), and there were significant differences in aggressive behavior, psychological abuse, emotional intelligence and trait anger among middle school students of different student origins by residence(t=-18.77,-6.04,9.10,-9.94,P<0.05). Childhood psychological abuse (r=0.41), temperamental trait anger (r=0.52) and reactive trait anger (r=0.49) were significantly positively correlated with aggressive behavior(P<0.05). Emotional intelligence was significantly negatively correlated with aggressive behavior (r=-0.33, P<0.05). The test of multiple mediation effects showed that emotional intelligence, temperamental trait anger and reactive trait anger played multiple mediation roles between psychological abuse and aggressive behavior in childhood.@*Conclusion@#Childhood psychological abuse could not only directly affect the aggressive behavior of middle school students, but also further affect the aggressive behavior through emotional intelligence and trait anger. Emotional intelligence and idiosyncratic anger are important internal mechanisms by which childhood psychological abuse affects aggressive behavior.

RESUMO

Mechanical faults of high-voltage circuit breakers (HVCBs) always happen over long-term operation, so extracting the fault features and identifying the fault type have become a key issue for ensuring the security and reliability of power supply. Based on wavelet packet decomposition technology and random forest algorithm, an effective identification system was developed in this paper. First, compared with the incomplete description of Shannon entropy, the wavelet packet time-frequency energy rate (WTFER) was adopted as the input vector for the classifier model in the feature selection procedure. Then, a random forest classifier was used to diagnose the HVCB fault, assess the importance of the feature variable and optimize the feature space. Finally, the approach was verified based on actual HVCB vibration signals by considering six typical fault classes. The comparative experiment results show that the classification accuracy of the proposed method with the origin feature space reached 93.33% and reached up to 95.56% with optimized input feature vector of classifier. This indicates that feature optimization procedure is successful, and the proposed diagnosis algorithm has higher efficiency and robustness than traditional methods.

RESUMO

During boreal summer, much of the water vapor and CO entering the global tropical stratosphere is transported over the Asian monsoon/Tibetan Plateau (TP) region. Studies have suggested that most of this transport is carried out either by tropical convection over the South Asian monsoon region or by extratropical convection over southern China. By using measurements from the newly available National Aeronautics and Space Administration Aura Microwave Limb Sounder, along with observations from the Aqua and Tropical Rainfall-Measuring Mission satellites, we establish that the TP provides the main pathway for cross-tropopause transport in this region. Tropospheric moist convection driven by elevated surface heating over the TP is deeper and detrains more water vapor, CO, and ice at the tropopause than over the monsoon area. Warmer tropopause temperatures and slower-falling, smaller cirrus cloud particles in less saturated ambient air at the tropopause also allow more water vapor to travel into the lower stratosphere over the TP, effectively short-circuiting the slower ascent of water vapor across the cold tropical tropopause over the monsoon area. Air that is high in water vapor and CO over the Asian monsoon/TP region enters the lower stratosphere primarily over the TP, and it is then transported toward the Asian monsoon area and disperses into the large-scale upward motion of the global stratospheric circulation. Thus, hydration of the global stratosphere could be especially sensitive to changes of convection over the TP.
