RESUMO

Conventional asphalt roads are noisy. Currently, there are two main types of mainstream noise-reducing pavements: pore acoustic absorption and damping noise reduction. However, a single noise reduction method has limited noise reduction capability, and porous noise-reducing pavements have a shorter service life. Therefore, this paper aimed to improve the noise-damping performance of porous asphalt mixture by adding rubber granules and extending its service life using electromagnetic induction heating self-healing technology. Porosity and permeability coefficient test, Cantabro test, immersion Marshall stability test, freeze-thaw splitting test, a low-temperature three-point bending experiment, and Hamburg wheel-tracking test were conducted to investigate the pavement performance and water permeability coefficients of the mixtures. A tire drop test and the standing-wave tube method were conducted to explore their noise reduction performance. Induction heating installation was carried out to study the heating rate and healing performance. The results indicated that the road performance of the porous asphalt mixture tends to reduce with an increasing dosage of rubber granules. The road performance is not up to the required standard when the dosage of rubber granules reaches 3%. The mixture's performance of damping and noise tends to increase with the increase of rubber granule dosage. Asphalt mixtures with different rubber granule dosages have different noise absorption properties, and the mixture with 2% rubber granules has the best overall performance (a vibration attenuation coefficient of 7.752 and an average absorption factor of 0.457). The optimum healing temperature of the porous asphalt mixture containing rubber granules and steel wool fibers is 120 °C and the healing rate is 74.8% at a 2% rubber granule dosage. This paper provides valuable insights for improving the noise reduction performance and service life of porous asphalt pavements while meeting road performance standards.

Lactate plays a crucial role in energy metabolism and greatly impacts protein activities, exerting diverse physiological and pathological effects. Therefore, convenient lactate assays for tracking spatiotemporal dynamics in living cells are desirable. In this paper, we engineered and optimized a red fluorescent protein sensor for l-lactate named FiLa-Red. This indicator exhibited a maximal fluorescence change of 730 % and an apparent dissociation constant (Kd) of approximately 460 µM. By utilizing FiLa-Red and other sensors, we monitored energy metabolism in a multiplex manner by simultaneously tracking lactate and NAD+/NADH abundance in the cytoplasm, nucleus, and mitochondria. The FiLa-Red sensor is expected to be a useful tool for performing metabolic analysis in vitro, in living cells and in vivo.

The high electrochemical reactivity of H2O molecules and zinc metal results in severe side reactions and dendrite formation on zinc anodes. Here we demonstrate that these issues can be addressed by using N-hydroxymethylacetamide (NHA) as additives in 2 M ZnSO4 electrolytes. The addition of NHA molecules, acting as both a hydrogen bond donor and acceptor, enables the formation of cyclic hydrogen bonding with H2O molecules. This interaction disrupts the existing hydrogen bonding networks between H2O molecules, hindering proton transport, and containing H2O molecules within the cyclic hydrogen bonding structure to prevent deprotonation. Additionally, NHA molecules show a preference for adsorption on the (101) crystal surface of zinc metal. This preferential adsorption reduces the surface energy of the (101) plane, facilitating the homogeneous Zn deposition along the (101) direction. Thus, the NHA enables Zn||Zn symmetric cell with a cycle lifespan of 1100 hours at 5 mA cm-2 and Zn||Cu asymmetric cell with a high Coulombic efficiency over 99.5%. Moreover, the NHA-modified Zn||AC zinc ion hybrid capacitor is capable of sustaining 15000 cycles at 2 A g-1. This electrolyte additive engineering presents a promising strategy to enhance the performance and broaden the application potential of zinc metal-based energy storage devices.

OBJECTIVES: To screen biomarkers for forensic identification of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) by non-targeted metabolomic studies on changes of urine metabolites in rats with AMI. METHODS: The rat models of the sham surgery group, AMI group and hyperlipidemia + acute myocardial infarction (HAMI) group were established. Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS) was used to analyze the changes of urine metabolic spectrometry in AMI rats. Principal component analysis, partial least squares-discriminant analysis, and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis were used to screen differential metabolites. The MetaboAnalyst database was used to analyze the metabolic pathway enrichment and access the predictive ability of differential metabolites. RESULTS: A total of 40 and 61 differential metabolites associated with AMI and HAMI were screened, respectively. Among them, 22 metabolites were common in both rat models. These small metabolites were mainly concentrated in the niacin and nicotinamide metabolic pathways. Within the 95% confidence interval, the area under the curve (AUC) values of receiver operator characteristic curve for N8-acetylspermidine, 3-methylhistamine, and thymine were greater than 0.95. CONCLUSIONS: N8-acetylspermidine, 3-methylhistamine, and thymine can be used as potential biomarkers for AMI diagnosis, and abnormal metabolism in niacin and nicotinamide may be the main causes of AMI. This study can provide reference for the mechanism and causes of AMI identification.

PURPOSE: Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic autoimmune liver disease characterized by a range of symptoms, including sleep disturbances. The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of sleep disorders and the associations between sleep disorders and clinical outcomes in PBC. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We enrolled 177 patients with PBC and 165 healthy controls (age- and sex-matched). Sleep quality was assessed by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Demographic and clinical data were collected from comprehensive clinical records to investigate whether sleep disorder was correlated with disease severity, therapeutic response and liver cirrhosis. RESULTS: The prevalence of sleep disorders in patients with PBC (50.8 â€‹%) was significantly higher than healthy controls (18.2 â€‹%). Patients with sleep disorders presented with higher levels of laboratory parameters including globulin (GLO), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), total bilirubin (TBIL), direct bilirubin (DBIL) and immunoglobulin M (IgM), as well as higher ratio of poor therapeutic response and liver cirrhosis (p â€‹< â€‹0.05). There was a positive correlation between global PSQI score and AST, ALP, GGT, TBIL, DBIL and IgM in patients with PBC. Patients with poor therapeutic response and liver cirrhosis in PBC had a higher proportion of sleep disorders and more chaotic sleep patterns, whereas a stronger correlation between sleep quality and laboratory parameters was found in patients with liver cirrhosis. CONCLUSIONS: Sleep disorders were prevalent and manifested as adverse effects in PBC. Assessment of sleep quality and intervention were essential to the overall clinical management of patients with PBC.

BACKGROUND: Depressive symptoms are frequently observed in patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). The role of depressive symptoms on cirrhosis has not been fully noticed in PBC. We aimed to establish a risk model for cirrhosis that took depressive symptoms into account. METHODS: Depressive symptoms were assessed by the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17). HAMD-17 score was analyzed in relation to clinical parameters. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (Lasso)-logistic regression and decision tree models were used to explore the effect of depressive symptoms on cirrhosis. RESULTS: The rate of depressive symptom in patients with PBC (n = 162) was higher than in healthy controls (n = 180) (52.5% vs. 16.1%; p < .001). HAMD-17 score was negatively associated with C4 levels and positively associated with levels of alkaline phosphatase (ALP), γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), total bilirubin (TB), Immunoglobulin (Ig) G, and IgM (r = -0.162, 0.197, 0.355, 0.203, 0.182, 0.314, p < .05). In Lasso-logistic regression analysis, HAMD-17 score, human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DRB1*03:01 allele, age, ALP levels, and IgM levels (odds ratio [OR] = 1.087, 7.353, 1.075, 1.009, 1.005; p < 0.05) were independent risk factors for cirrhosis. Elevated HAMD-17 score was also a discriminating factor for high risk of cirrhosis in patients with PBC in decision tree model. CONCLUSIONS: Depressive symptoms were associated with disease severity. Elevated HAMD-17 score was a risk factor for cirrhosis in patients with PBC.

The application of nanomaterials in different plants exerts varying effects, both positive and negative. This study aimed to investigate the influence of carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) on the growth and development of Ficus tikoua Bur. plant. The morphological characteristics, photosynthetic parameters, and chlorophyll content of F. tikoua Bur. plants were evaluated under four different concentrations of CNPs. Results indicated a decreasing trend in several agronomic traits, such as leaf area, branching number, and green leaf number and most photosynthetic parameters with increasing CNPs concentration. Total chlorophyll and chlorophyll b contents were also significantly reduced in CNPs-exposed plants compared to the control. Notably, variations in plant tolerance to CNPs were observed based on morphological and physiological parameters. A critical concentration of 50 g/kg was identified as potentially inducing plant toxicity, warranting further investigation into the effects of lower CNPs concentrations to determine optimal application levels.

BACKGROUND: Anti-PD-1 therapy and chemotherapy is a recommended first-line treatment for recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma, but the role of PD-1 blockade remains unknown in patients with locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma. We assessed the addition of sintilimab, a PD-1 inhibitor, to standard chemoradiotherapy in this patient population. METHODS: This multicentre, open-label, parallel-group, randomised, controlled, phase 3 trial was conducted at nine hospitals in China. Adults aged 18-65 years with newly diagnosed high-risk non-metastatic stage III-IVa locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (excluding T3-4N0 and T3N1) were eligible. Patients were randomly assigned (1:1) using blocks of four to receive gemcitabine and cisplatin induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent cisplatin radiotherapy (standard therapy group) or standard therapy with 200 mg sintilimab intravenously once every 3 weeks for 12 cycles (comprising three induction, three concurrent, and six adjuvant cycles to radiotherapy; sintilimab group). The primary endpoint was event-free survival from randomisation to disease recurrence (locoregional or distant) or death from any cause in the intention-to-treat population. Secondary endpoints included adverse events. This trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03700476) and is now completed; follow-up is ongoing. FINDINGS: Between Dec 21, 2018, and March 31, 2020, 425 patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to the sintilimab (n=210) or standard therapy groups (n=215). At median follow-up of 41·9 months (IQR 38·0-44·8; 389 alive at primary data cutoff [Feb 28, 2023] and 366 [94%] had at least 36 months of follow-up), event-free survival was higher in the sintilimab group compared with the standard therapy group (36-month rates 86% [95% CI 81-90] vs 76% [70-81]; stratified hazard ratio 0·59 [0·38-0·92]; p=0·019). Grade 3-4 adverse events occurred in 155 (74%) in the sintilimab group versus 140 (65%) in the standard therapy group, with the most common being stomatitis (68 [33%] vs 64 [30%]), leukopenia (54 [26%] vs 48 [22%]), and neutropenia (50 [24%] vs 46 [21%]). Two (1%) patients died in the sintilimab group (both considered to be immune-related) and one (<1%) in the standard therapy group. Grade 3-4 immune-related adverse events occurred in 20 (10%) patients in the sintilimab group. INTERPRETATION: Addition of sintilimab to chemoradiotherapy improved event-free survival, albeit with higher but manageable adverse events. Longer follow-up is necessary to determine whether this regimen can be considered as the standard of care for patients with high-risk locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Over the past decades, accumulating evidence suggests that the gut microbiome exerts a key role in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The Alzheimer's Association Workgroup is updating the diagnostic criteria for AD, which changed the profiles and categorization of biomarkers from "AT(N)" to "ATNIVS." Previously, most of studies focus on the correlation between the gut microbiome and amyloid beta deposition ("A"), the initial AD pathological feature triggering the "downstream" tauopathy and neurodegeneration. However, limited research investigated the interactions between the gut microbiome and other AD pathogenesis ("TNIVS"). In this review, we summarize current findings of the gut microbial characteristics in the whole spectrum of AD. Then, we describe the association of the gut microbiome with updated biomarker categories of AD pathogenesis. In addition, we outline the gut microbiome-related therapeutic strategies for AD. Finally, we discuss current key issues of the gut microbiome research in the AD field and future research directions. HIGHLIGHTS: The new revised criteria for Alzheimer's disease (AD) proposed by the Alzheimer's Association Workgroup have updated the profiles and categorization of biomarkers from "AT(N)" to "ATNIVS." The associations of the gut microbiome with updated biomarker categories of AD pathogenesis are described. Current findings of the gut microbial characteristics in the whole spectrum of AD are summarized. Therapeutic strategies for AD based on the gut microbiome are proposed.

Efficient charge-carrier injection and transport in organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) are essential to simultaneously achieving their high efficiency and long-term stability. However, the charge-transporting layers (CTLs) deposited by various vapor or solution processes are usually in amorphous forms, and their low charge-carrier mobilities, defect-induced high trap densities and inhomogeneous thickness with rough surface morphologies have been obstacles towards high-performance devices. Here, organic single-crystalline (SC) films were employed as the hole-transporting layers (HTLs) instead of the conventional amorphous films to fabricate highly efficient and stable OLEDs. The high-mobility and ultrasmooth morphology of the SC-HTLs facilitate superior interfacial characteristics of both HTL/electrode and HTL/emissive layer interfaces, resulting in a high Haacke's figure of merit (FoM) of the ultrathin top electrode and low series-resistance joule-heat loss ratio of the SC-OLEDs. Moreover, the thick and compact SC-HTL can function as a barrier layer against moisture and oxygen permeation. As a result, the SC-OLEDs show much improved efficiency and stability compared to the OLEDs based on amorphous or polycrystalline HTLs, suggesting a new strategy to developing advanced OLEDs with high efficiency and high stability.

OBJECTIVES: To analyze the literature on artificial intelligence in forensic research from 2012 to 2022 in the Web of Science Core Collection Database, to explore research hotspots and developmental trends. METHODS: A total of 736 articles on artificial intelligence in forensic medicine in the Web of Science Core Collection Database from 2012 to 2022 were visualized and analyzed through the literature measuring tool CiteSpace. The authors, institution, country (region), title, journal, keywords, cited references and other information of relevant literatures were analyzed. RESULTS: A total of 736 articles published in 220 journals by 355 authors from 289 institutions in 69 countries (regions) were identified, with the number of articles published showing an increasing trend year by year. Among them, the United States had the highest number of publications and China ranked the second. Academy of Forensic Science had the highest number of publications among the institutions. Forensic Science International, Journal of Forensic Sciences, International Journal of Legal Medicine ranked high in publication and citation frequency. Through the analysis of keywords, it was found that the research hotspots of artificial intelligence in the forensic field mainly focused on the use of artificial intelligence technology for sex and age estimation, cause of death analysis, postmortem interval estimation, individual identification and so on. CONCLUSIONS: It is necessary to pay attention to international and institutional cooperation and to strengthen the cross-disciplinary research. Exploring the combination of advanced artificial intelligence technologies with forensic research will be a hotspot and direction for future research.

Forkhead box P3 (FOXP3) has been identified as a novel molecular marker in various types of cancer. The present study assessed the expression of FOXP3 in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and its potential as a clinical prognostic indicator, and developed a radiomics model based on enhanced computed tomography (CT) imaging. Data from 483 patients with HNSCC were downloaded from the Cancer Genome Atlas for FOXP3 prognostic analysis and enhanced CT images from 139 patients included in the Cancer Imaging Archives, which were subjected to the maximum relevance and minimum redundancy and recursive feature elimination algorithms for radiomics feature extraction and processing. Logistic regression was used to build a model for predicting FOXP3 expression. A prognostic scoring system for radiomics score (RS), FOXP3, and patient clinicopathological factors was established to predict patient survival. The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) and calibration curve and decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to evaluate model performance. Furthermore, the relationship between FOXP3 and the immune microenvironment, as well as the association between RS and immune checkpoint-related genes, was analyzed. Results of analysis revealed that patients with HNSCC and high FOXP3 mRNA expression exhibited better overall survival. Immune infiltration analysis revealed that FOXP3 had a positive correlation with CD4 + and CD8 + T cells and other immune cells. The 8 best radiomics features were selected to construct the radiomics model. In the FOXP3 expression prediction model, the AUC values were 0.707 and 0.702 for the training and validation sets, respectively. Additionally, the calibration curve and DCA demonstrated the positive diagnostic utility of the model. RS was correlated with immune checkpoint-related genes such as ICOS, CTLA4, and PDCD1. A predictive nomogram was established, the AUCs were 0.87, 0.787, and 0.801 at 12, 24, and 36 months, respectively, and DCA demonstrated the high clinical applicability of the nomogram. The enhanced CT radiomics model can predict expression of FOXP3 and prognosis in patients with HNSCC. As such, FOXP3 may be used as a novel prognostic marker to improve individualized clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions.

We present a novel, eco-friendly and one-pot approach for synthesizing unsymmetrical oxalamides with the aid of dichloroacetamide and amine/amides in the presence of CBr4 in a basic medium. The use of water as a potent supplement for the oxygen atom source and the detailed mechanism have been disclosed. Moreover, the protocol involves triple cleavage of CCl2Br and the formation of new C-O/C-N bonds, with the advantage of achieving selective bromination using CBr4 with good to excellent yield under mild conditions. The method also demonstrates promise for industrial use, as proven by its effective implementation in gram-scale synthesis conducted in a batch process, along with its utilization in a continuous-flow system.

RESUMO

The Si-based integrated circuits industry has been developing for more than half a century, by focusing on the scaling-down of transistor. However, the miniaturization of transistors will soon reach its physical limits, thereby requiring novel material and device technologies. Resistive memory is a promising candidate for in-memory computing and energy-efficient synaptic devices that can satisfy the computational demands of the future applications. However, poor cycle-to-cycle and device-to-device uniformities hinder its mass production. 2D materials, as a new type of semiconductor, is successfully employed in various micro/nanoelectronic devices and have the potential to drive future innovation in resistive memory technology. This review evaluates the potential of using the thinnest advanced materials, that is, monolayer 2D materials, for memristor or memtransistor applications, including resistive switching behavior and atomic mechanism, high-frequency device performances, and in-memory computing/neuromorphic computing applications. The scaling-down advantages of promising monolayer 2D materials including graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides, and hexagonal boron nitride are presented. Finally, the technical challenges of these atomic devices for practical applications are elaborately discussed. The study of monolayer-2D-material-based resistive memory is expected to play a positive role in the exploration of beyond-Si electronic technologies.

Background: Previous observational studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding the incidence of cancer in patients with schizophrenia compared to the general population. The causal relationship between schizophrenia and cancer remains unclear and requires further investigation. Objective: To investigate the causal relationship between schizophrenia and cancer. Methods: In this study, a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was conducted using publicly available genome-wide association studies to determine the causal relationship. The effect estimates were calculated using the random-effects inverse-variance-weighted method. Results: We determined a causal relationship between genetic predisposition to schizophrenia and cancer, with schizophrenia increasing lung cancer (odds ratio (OR) = 1.0007; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.0001-1.0013; p = 0.0192), thyroid cancer (OR = 1.5482; CI, 1.1112-2.1569; p =0.0098),colorectal cancer (OR = 1.0009; CI, 1.0001-1.0018; p = 0.0344), ovarian cancer (OR = 1.0770; CI, 1.0352-1.1203; p = 0.0002), breast cancer (OR = 1.0011; CI, 1.0001- 1.0022; p =0.0352) and reduced the risk of malignant neoplasm of the stomach (OR = 0.8502; CI, 0.7230-0.9998; p = 0.0496). Conclusions: This study conducted a two-sample MR analysis and discovered a positive causal relationship between schizophrenia and breast, ovarian, thyroid, lung, and colorectal cancers. On the other hand, an inverse causal relationship was found between schizophrenia and malignant neoplasm of the stomach.

Objective: To explore the combined efficacy of modified Yangxin Anshen decoction and Western medicine treatment in elderly patients with schizophrenia and sleep disorders. Methods: A total of 144 elderly patients with schizophrenia and sleep disorders in Wuhan Wudong Hospital were enrolled as participants in this study from April 2021 to April 2022. The participants were randomly and equally divided into a control group (receiving conventional Western medicine treatment) and two study groups: study group 1 received modified Yangxin Anshen decoction, and study group 2 receive modified Yangxin Anshen decoction in addition to Western medicine treatment. TCM syndrome scores, sleep quality, polysomnography, serum levels of 5-HT, DA, and MT were compared between the two groups. Moreover, the efficacy and adverse reactions were recorded. Results: After four weeks of treatment, the efficacy of study group 2 was significantly better than that of the control group and Study Group 1 (P < .05). There was no statistically significant difference between the three groups in secondary and main symptoms before treatment (P >.05), while the secondary and main symptoms of study group 2 were significantly lower than those of the control group and study group 1 after four weeks of treatment (P < .05). Before treatment, no statistically significant difference was found in sleep quality score between the three groups (P > .05), whereas the index of the study group 2 was evidently lower than that of the control group and study group 1 after four weeks of treatment (P < .05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in terms of total recording time, total sleep time, sleep onset latency, sleep efficiency, and four stages (N1, N2, N3, and REM) between the three groups (P > .05). After four weeks of treatment, although no statistically significant difference was shown in total recording time between the three groups (P > .05), the total sleep time, sleep onset latency, sleep efficiency, and four stages (N1, N2, N3, and REM) of the study group 2 were significantly improved than those of the control group and the study group 1 (P < .05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in serum levels of 5-HT, DA, and MT between the three groups (P > .05), while the three indexes were evidently lower than the control group and the study group 1 after four weeks of treatment (P < .05). During the treatment process, 1 case of mild dry mouth occurred in the study group who did not receive special treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions was 1/48. In the control group, there were 3 cases of dry mouth, 1 case of constipation, 1 case of diarrhea, 1 case of decreased appetite, and 1 case of nausea, whose symptoms were not specially treated, with the incidence of adverse reactions of 7/48. Hence the incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < .05). Conclusion: Combined treatment with modified Yangxin Anshen decoction and Western medicine improved sleep quality in elderly patients with schizophrenia and sleep disorders, which is available for wide clinical application.

BACKGROUND: Recently, the number of cases of Mycobacterium marinum infection has increased. Due to the nonspecific clinical manifestations and lack of standardized treatment guidelines, these infections are often misdiagnosed and are challenging to treat. METHODS: In this study, four patients had M. marinum skin infections accompanied by a high-risk exposure history and were diagnosed by bacterial culture and gene chip. Two patients were treated with antibiotic therapy alone, and the other two patients were treated with 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT) combined with antibiotics. RESULTS: All four patients enrolled in the study were cured with 100 % efficacy. Two patients were cured after receiving two active antibiotics for 4 months. The other two patients, having considered the drug resistance and intolerance described above, were cured after receiving two active antibiotics for 1-1.5 months along with combination therapy with ALA-PDT. CONCLUSION: Combination therapy with ALA-PDT and antibiotics was chosen to shorten the duration of antibiotic treatment and reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions.

Minimizing the amount of metallic lithium (Li) to zero excess to achieve an anode-free configuration can help achieve safer, higher energy density, and more economical Li metal batteries. Nevertheless, removal of excess Li creates challenges for long-term cycling performance in Li metal batteries due to the lithiophobic copper foils as anodic current collectors. Here, we improve the long-term cycling performance of anode-free Li metal batteries by modifying the anode-free configuration. Specifically, a lithiophilic Au nanoparticle-anchored reduced graphene oxide (Au/rGO) film is used as an anodic modifier to reduce the Li nucleation overpotential and inhibit dendrite growth by forming a lithiophilic LixAu alloy and solid solution, which is convincingly evidenced by density functional theory calculations and experimentally. Meanwhile, the flexible rGO film can also act as a buffer layer to endure the volume expansion during repeated Li plating/stripping processes. In addition, the Au/rGO film promotes a homogeneous distribution of the electric field over the entire anodic surface, thus ensuring a uniform deposition of Li during the electrodeposition process, which is convincingly evidenced by finite element simulations. As expected, the Li||Au/rGO-Li half-cell shows a highly stable long-term cycling performance for at least 500 cycles at 0.5 mA cm-2 and 0.5 mA h cm-2. A Li2S-based anode-free full cell allows achieving a stable operation life of up to 200 cycles with a capacity retention of 63.3%. This work provides a simple and scalable fabrication method to achieve anode-free Li2S-based cells with high anodic interface stability and a long lifetime.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors such as anti-PD-1 receptor antibodies have been shown to be effective in patients with advanced gastric cancer. However, there is a growing concern about immune-related adverse events. A case of a patient with gastric adenocarcinoma who developed toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) induced by sintilimab and subsequently developed lichenoid dermatitis is reported. TEN was diagnosed according to a history of sintilimab use, clinical symptoms and physical examination. During hospitalization, the patient developed recurrent fever caused by bacteremia and recovered from TEN after anti-infection and anti-inflammatory treatments. However, when TEN was controlled, the patient developed the lesional manifestations of lichenoid dermatitis. To date, no cases of lichenoid dermatitis after TEN have been reported following the use of PD-1 inhibitors.


PD-1 inhibitors are drugs that help fight stomach cancer but can sometimes cause skin problems. Most skin problems are minor and do not have a serious impact on the patient's health. However, life-threatening skin problems such as toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) can sometimes happen. This case report describes a patient with stomach cancer who had lichenoid dermatitis (another skin problem) after TEN, following the treatment of his cancer with PD-1 inhibitors. To the best of our knowledge, it is very rare to experience both skin problems after treating cancer with PD-1 inhibitors. This rare phenomenon is reported to bring more attention to it. More research is needed to determine how to treat this problem better.

Growing evidence supports that Alzheimer's disease (AD) could be regarded as a metabolic disease, accompanying central and peripheral metabolic disturbance. Nowadays, exploring novel and potentially alternative hallmarks for AD is needed. Peripheral metabolites based on blood and gut may provide new biochemical insights about disease mechanisms. These metabolites can influence brain energy homeostasis, maintain gut mucosal integrity, and regulate the host immune system, which may further play a key role in modulating the cognitive function and behavior of AD. Recently, metabolomics has been used to identify key AD-related metabolic changes and define metabolic changes during AD disease trajectory. This review aims to summarize the key blood- and microbial-derived metabolites that are altered in AD and identify the potential metabolic biomarkers of AD, which will provide future targets for precision therapeutic modulation.
