RESUMO

Increasing concerns about hair loss affect people's quality of life. Recent studies have found that sympathetic nerves play a positive role in regulating hair follicle stem cell activity to promote hair growth. However, no study has investigated sympathetic innervation of transplanted follicles. Rat vibrissa follicles were extracted and implanted under the dorsal skin of BALB/c-nu/nu mice using one of two types of follicles: (1) intact follicles, where transplants included bulbs, and (2) upper follicles, where transplants excluded bulbs. Follicular samples were collected for hematoxylin and eosin staining, immunofluorescence staining for tyrosine hydroxylase (TH, a sympathetic marker) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. At 37 days after implantation in both groups, follicles had entered anagen, with the growth of long hair shafts; tyrosine-hydroxylase-positive nerves were innervating follicles (1.45-fold); and norepinephrine concentrations (2.03-fold) were significantly increased compared to 5 days, but did not return to normal. We demonstrate the survival of intact and upper follicle xenografts and the partial restoration of sympathetic reinnervations of both transplanted follicles.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of placement of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) via the upper versus lower extremity veins in neonates through a Meta analysis. METHODS: CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP Data, CBMdisc, PubMed, Web of Knowledge, Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library and Google Scholar were searched for control studies on the effect of PICC placement via the upper versus lower extremity veins in neonates. RevMan 5.3 was used to perform a Meta analysis of the studies which met the inclusion criteria. RESULTS: A total of 18 studies were included, among which there were 8 randomized controlled trials and 10 cohort studies, with 4 890 subjects in total. Compared with those undergoing PICC placement via the upper extremity veins, the neonates undergoing PICC placement via the lower extremity veins had significantly lower incidence rates of complications (RR=0.83, 95%CI: 0.75-0.92, P<0.05), catheter-related infections (RR=0.77, 95%CI: 0.60-0.99, P<0.05), catheter malposition (RR=0.28, 95%CI: 0.18-0.42, P<0.05), extravasation of the infusate (RR=0.52, 95%CI: 0.40-0.70, P<0.05), and unplanned extubation (RR=0.82, 95%CI: 0.69-0.98, P<0.05). They also had a significantly higher first-attempt success rate of puncture (RR=1.17, 95%CI: 1.05-1.30, P<0.05) and a significantly shorter PICC indwelling time (MD=-0.93, 95%CI: -1.26-0.60, P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The above evidence shows that PICC placement via the lower extremity veins has a better effect than PICC placement via the upper extremity veins in neonates.

RESUMO

A general catalytic hydrogen transfer-mediated α-functionalization of 1,8-naphthyridines is reported for the first time that benefits from a hydrogen transfer-mediated activation mode for non-activated pyridyl cores. The pyridyl α-site selectively couples with the C8-site of various tetrahydroquinolines (THQs) to afford novel α-functionalized tetrahydro 1,8-naphthyridines, a class of synthetically useful building blocks and potential candidates for the discovery of therapeutic and bio-active products. The utilization of THQs as inactive hydrogen donors (HDs) appears to be a key strategy to overcome the over-hydrogenation barrier and address the chemoselectivity issue. The developed chemistry features operational simplicity, readily available catalyst and good functional group tolerance, and offers a significant basis for further development of new protocols to directly transform or functionalize inert N-heterocycles.

RESUMO

By an external hydrogen transfer-mediated activation mode, we herein demonstrate a new palladium-catalyzed direct α,ß-coupling of different types of N-heteroarenes. Such a selective coupling reaction proceeds with the advantages of operational simplicity, high atom-economical efficiency, and use of safe and abundant i-propanol as the activating agent, offering a practical way to access nitrogen bi-heteroarenes. Preliminary exploration has revealed that the obtained bis-1,10-phenanthroline 2qq' as a ligand is capable of improving a copper catalyst for C-C bond formation. The work reported in this paper has built an important basis for the creation of extended π-conjugated systems that are of high significance in biological, medicinal, materials and synthetic organic chemistry as well as catalysis.

RESUMO

Nine new C9 polyketides, named aspiketolactonol (1), aspilactonols A-F (2-7), aspyronol (9) and epiaspinonediol (11), were isolated together with five known polyketides, (S)-2-(2'-hydroxyethyl)-4-methyl-γ-butyrolactone (8), dihydroaspyrone (10), aspinotriol A (12), aspinotriol B (13) and chaetoquadrin F (14), from the secondary metabolites of an Aspergillus sp. 16-02-1 that was isolated from a deep-sea sediment sample. Structures of the new compounds, including their absolute configurations, were determined by spectroscopic methods, especially the 2D NMR, circular dichroism (CD), Mo2-induced CD and Mosher's 1H NMR analyses. Compound 8 was isolated from natural sources for the first time, and the possible biosynthetic pathways for 1-14 were also proposed and discussed. Compounds 1-14 inhibited human cancer cell lines, K562, HL-60, HeLa and BGC-823, to varying extents.
