RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the relationship between the personality traits, emotional stability and mental health state of students in vocational and technical colleges of art under epidemic prevention and control based on latent trait-state theory. Methods: Using the stratified sampling method, we selected 1569 students in vocational and technical colleges of art as research subjects. From 1 April 2022 to 5 April 2022, we conducted an online survey using the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (Adult Edition) (EPQA), Emotional Stability Self-Test Scale and University Personality Inventory (UPI) to analyse the relationship between the traits, emotional stability and mental health of students in vocational and technical colleges of art. Results: For the EPQA personality traits, boys had lower extraversion and introversion scores than girls (47.71 ± 11.23 vs 49.06 ± 10.74, p = 0.021). In terms of mental health, boys had lower scores than girls (12.20 ± 12.73 vs 14.64 ± 11.85, p< 0.001). There were significant grade differences in psychoticism and total mental health scores in terms of EPQA personality traits (P < 0.01). There were significant associations between all dimensions of personality traits, emotional stability and mental health (r = 0.68, 0.62, p < 0.01). Emotional stability plays a partial mediating role in the effects of neuroticism on mental health. Conclusion: There is a close relationship between personality traits, emotional stability and mental health. Under the condition of epidemic prevention and control, strengthening the management of the self-emotional stability of students in vocational and technical colleges of art is helpful in improving students' mental health.

RESUMO

Harpertrioate A (1), an A,B,D-seco-limonoid with a rearranged ring B incorporating exocyclic C-30, was isolated from the EtOAc extract of Harrisonia perforata twigs. Its structure, including absolute configurations, was determined on the basis of spectroscopic data and X-ray crystallography. This compound exhibited biological activities against Alzheimer's disease by reducing Aß42 and Aß40 production and shifting APP processing toward nonamyloidogenic pathway. The effect of 1 on the Aß production was comparable to that of gemfibrozil.

RESUMO

The first phytochemical investigation of the seeds of Euphorbia peplus led to the isolation and characterization of five new (1-5), named euphopepluanones A-E, and five known diterpenoids (6-10). Their structures were established by extensive spectroscopic analysis and X-ray crystallographic experiments. Euphopepluanones A-E (1-3) feature a very rare 5/11/5-tricyclic skeleton, and euphopepluanones D-E (4-5) represent the first report of lathyrane type diterpenoids found in E. peplus. The new compounds 1-5 were assessed for their activities to induce lysosomal biogenesis through LysoTracker Red staining, in which compounds 1 and 3 could significantly induce lysosomal biogenesis. In addition, compounds 1 and 3 could promote the nuclear translocation of TFEB, a master transcriptional factor of lysosomal genes, indicating that compounds 1 and 3 induced lysosomal biogenesis through activation of TFEB.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Lung cancer is a clinical disease with multiple malignant tumors. Currently, it is difficult for patients to benefit from routine clinical nursing due to the lack of a pertinent and systematic approach. AIM: To investigate the effect of integrated nursing care on the negative emotions and satisfaction of lung cancer patients. METHODS: From January 2018 to December 2019, 92 patients with lung cancer were selected and divided into the study group and the control group; there were 46 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the study group received integrated medical care in addition to the care received by the control group. Negative emotions before and after the intervention, the self-management ability score after the intervention, family care burden after the intervention and nursing satisfaction after the intervention were measured in the two groups. RESULTS: After the intervention, the self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the scores for health knowledge, self-concept, self-responsibility and self-care skills in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the scores for individual burden and responsibility burden in the study group were lower than those before the intervention (P < 0.05); and the nursing satisfaction in the study group (93.48%) was higher than that in the control group (78.26%, P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: An integrated nursing care approach for lung cancer patients can effectively relieve the patient's negative feelings, improve their self-management ability, help to reduce the burden of family care and improve patient satisfaction with nursing activities.

RESUMO

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, autoimmune disease characterized by inflammatory synovitis, but its pathogenesis remains unclear. NLRC5 is a newly discovered member of the NLR family that is effective in regulating autoimmunity, inflammatory responses, and cell death processes. Dexmedetomidine (DEX) has been reported to have a variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. However, the role of DEX in RA has not been explored. In adjuvant-induced arthritis (AA) rat models, DEX (10 µg/kg and 20 µg/kg) reduced the pathological score, the arthritis score, paw swelling volume, and the serum levels of IL-1ß, IL-6, IL-17A, and TNF-α. Moreover, by using Western blot and real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), it was demonstrated that DEX can inhibit the expression of IL-1ß, IL-6, MMP-3, MMP-9 and P-P65 in the synovial tissue of AA rats. In human rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLSs), DEX (250 nM and 500 nM) was found to inhibit the expression of IL-1ß, IL-6, MMP-3, MMP-9, and P-P65 following stimulation with TNF-α. Moreover, DEX can inhibit the invasion and migration of RA-FLSs stimulated by TNF-α. Finally, the expression of NLRC5 in RA-FLSs and AA rat models was also reduced by DEX. After silencing NLRC5 in RA-FLSs, the expression of IL-1ß, IL-6, MMP-3, MMP-9, and P-P65, as well as the invasion and migration of cells, were significantly reduced. These results indicate that DEX inhibits the invasion, migration, and inflammation of RA-FLSs by reducing the expression of NLRC5 and inhibiting the NF-κB activation.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorders remains elusive and currently there are no diagnostic or predictive biomarkers in autism available. Proteomic profiling has been used in a wide range of neurodevelopmental disorder studies, which could produce deeper perceptions of the molecular bases behind certain disease and potentially becomes useful in discovering biomarkers in autism spectrum disorders. METHODS: Serum samples were collected from autistic children about 3 years old in age (n = 32) and healthy controls (n = 20) in similar age and gender. The samples were identified specific proteins that are differentially expressed by magnetic bead-based pre-fractionation and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-ToF-MS). RESULTS: Eight protein peaks were significantly different in autistic children from the healthy controls (P < 0.0001). The two peaks with the most significant differences were 6428 and 7758 Da in size. CONCLUSION: According to differences in serum protein profiles between the autistic children and healthy controls, this study identified a set of differentially expressed proteins those are significant for further evaluation and might function as biomarkers in autism.

RESUMO

Atrazine is widely used in agriculture. In this study, dissolved organic matter (DOM) from soils under four types of land use (forest (F), meadow (M), cropland (C) and wetland (W)) was used to investigate the binding characteristics of atrazine. Fluorescence excitation-emission matrix-parallel factor (EEM-PARAFAC) analysis, two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (2D-COS) and Stern-Volmer model were combined to explore the complexation between DOM and atrazine. The EEM-PARAFAC indicated that DOM from different sources had different structures, and humic-like components had more obvious quenching effects than protein-like components. The Stern-Volmer model combined with correlation analysis showed that log K values of PARAFAC components had a significant correlation with the humification of DOM, especially for C3 component, and they were all in the same order as follows: meadow soil (5.68)>wetland soil (5.44)>cropland soil (5.35)>forest soil (5.04). The 2D-COS further confirmed that humic-like components firstly combined with atrazine followed by protein-like components. These findings suggest that DOM components can significantly influence the bioavailability, mobility and migration of atrazine in different land uses.

RESUMO

Improper treatment of organic waste may result in environmental pollution and harm to plant growth due to the high concentration of phytotoxin. Composting has widely been used for recycling organic waste and reducing phytotoxin to improve soil properties. Assessing the phytotoxicity grades of compost products is essential for achieving high quality compost to guarantee its marketability. In this study, a technique combined parallel factor (PARAFAC) of excitation-emission matrices (EEMs) spectroscopy with projection pursuit regression (PPR) was applied to improve the sensitivity of phytotoxicity assessment during composting. Results showed that composting reduced the concentration of phytotoxin, and increased the germination index (GI). Composts were divided into four grades based on GI values. Five components containing simple DOM (component C1 and C2) and complex DOM (component C3-C5) were successfully developed by PARAFAC. Correlation analysis between phytotoxicity, chemical indices and fluorescence components demonstrated that C1, C4, complex DOM, and the ratio of simple/complex DOM components were more suitable to assess phytotoxicity of composting products. These results revealed that PARAFAC/PPR enabled a rapid and accurate method to assess the phytotoxicity of compost materials for composting plant.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study was undertaken to determine the effect of thimerosal on the neurodevelopment of premature rats. METHODS: Thimerosal was injected into premature SD rats at a dose of 32.8, 65.6, 98.4 or 131.2 µg/kg on postnatal day 1. Expression of dopamine D4 receptor (DRD4) and serotonin 2A receptor (5-HT2AR), apoptosis in the prefrontal cortex on post-injection day 49, and learning and memory function were studied and compared with those in a control group injected with saline. RESULTS: Expression of DRD4 and 5-HT2AR and learning function decreased, and apoptosis increased significantly in the 131.2 µg/kg group (P<0.001). Memory function was significantly impaired by 65.6 (P<0.05), 98.4 and 131.2 µg/kg (P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The negative adverse consequences on neurodevelopment observed in the present study are consistent with previous studies; this study raised serious concerns about adverse neurodevelopmental disorder such as autism in humans following the ongoing worldwide routine administration of thimerosalcontaining vaccines to infants.
